Despite the heavy sexuality in this anime, North American distributor Media Blasters gave it a 16-up rating and released it under their Anime Works label instead of their Kitty Media hentai label.
The scene after Yura discovers Makoto's "A Date With That Girl" video tape, there are various videos and their titles shown. One movie is the romantic film Somewhere in Time (1980). The rest of those titles are actually parodies of Edward Scissorhands (1990) (displayed as "Scissor Hans"), Flash Gordon (1980) (displayed as "Fresh Gordon") and Jurassic Park (1993) (which is shown as "Jealousic Park").
At the beginning of every episode, on the cell phone before the disclaimer, there are chibi versions of Ongo and Rongo, two characters from one of Yûji Moriyama's previous animes Jungle de Ikou! (1997).
