JUST ANOTHER DAY reveals key information . . .
pixrox111 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
. . . about Eon Production Company's 20th James Bond feature, DIE ANOTHER DAY. For instance, even though the diurnal title time period is the 69th day of shooting, actor Toby Stephens (whom we are told is a one-time Royal Shakespearian player) STILL is under the misapprehension that his "Gustav Graves" character is some sort of an "Argentinian." Those DAD viewers who are puzzled as to how Mr. Stephens could keep a straight face pretending to be a native-born NORTH KOREAN transformed into an English prig by "gene therapy" probably will be disillusioned to learn that it was no challenge at all--the crew KEPT this ludicrous back story to themselves until the final week of shooting the farcical climax, in which Toby guns down his North Korean dad for asking the logical question, "Who ARE you?" (On a different DAD extra, Eon honchos lamented that there were only two "certified" Asian stunt people in all of the United Kingdom, necessitating all their "creative writing.") However, what Eon did to poor Toby would be equivalent to his former Bardster employers having him play "Hamlet" without any access to or use of the troubled Dane's soliloquies!

Just Another Day chronicles the Buckingham Palace scene in Die Another Day
tavm15 September 2022
This doc extra on the Die Another Day Blu-ray disc chronicles the day the James Bond crew shot at Buckingham Palace after securing permission. First, director Lee Tamahori shoots the stunt man doing the parachute landing, then actor Toby Stephens is hanging for a while on a stationary parachute waiting for his cue to gradually lower to the ground for the cameras, then we see actress Rosamund Pike arriving to walk with Stephens and do their lines with Tamahori helming the scene, then Pierce Brosnan arrives to position his place in the crowd scene, before finally Ms. Pike then does her introductory line about Stephens' character. During most of this Tamahori keeps moving and talking to his crew about certain details. This doc only ran 20 minutes and all of it was pretty entertaining to me. So on that note, Just Another Day on the DAD disc is worth seeing.
