This DVD comes with a book of the same title. Carl & Rob Reiner host a review of Comedy starting with silent films, radio & vaudeville all the way up to the 2000's. It is done documentary style. There are some clips from everything along the way.
Overall it is a pretty good overview of Comedy highlighting a lot of the comic genius of the 20th Century with decent, but sometimes too brief a look at these folks & routines. I would have liked to have seen a little more depth but this is pretty basic as is the book Made You Laugh that came with it.
It does have a few good clips from some of the greatest folks of all time but if you really want to see the genius of a lot of these performers, this only barely whets your appetite.
