Sex & Nudity

  • A couple kiss in front of a school locker in great detail - which is neither sex nor nudity.
  • Some kissing. Not sex or nudity
  • Peter and Gwen kiss in a few scenes.
  • Sex or nudity comments only.
  • A woman appears on the subway with lingerie.
  • A woman dresses a man's wounds, and he romantically kisses her throat, but she rebuffs him.
  • The Lizard turns back into Curt Connors his scales disappear and he is naked but we don't see his genitals because it happens at night time
  • Peter Parker sticks on to a woman's shirt he then has to let go and she wears a bra not too revealing
  • Peter accidentally rips a girl's shirt off in a subway and we see her bra. No nudity and used for laughs.
  • Peter is seen without a shirt in a scene where he and gwen kiss
  • Spider-Man shouts "Crotch!" and proceeds to jump at a criminal, with his crotch landing on the criminal's face.

Violence & Gore

  • The Lizard breaks off his own hands when he gets frozen not bloody
  • Dr. Connors' own transformation into the Lizard looks painful as he sprouts a new arm and grows scales. Spidey soon shows up, of course, and the fighting begins. In one confrontation, Spider-Man pulls the Lizard's tail off, which he promptly grows back. The two have several other melees that Spidey seems to get the worst of. Sometimes he's tossed around like a rag doll, getting hit and kicked and thwacked and pummeled with frightening frequency. During their first confrontation, the Lizard rakes his claws across the hero's chest, leaving deep, bloody gashes in Peter's flesh.
  • Someone tries to burn the lizard (which doesn't work). Someone else tries to freeze him (which does, temporarily). In his frozen state, the man's arms get blasted away with a shotgun, bit by bit. Policemen also empty scores of bullets into the beastie, obviously causing him great pain.
  • The Lizard uses his fearsome claws to impale one poor soul. Peter, unfamiliar with his own talents, "accidentally" knocks out several people on a subway car and tears apart his own bathroom. Peter and a school bully nicknamed Flash go a couple of rounds with each other. At one point, Peter is gasping on the ground and nursing a big bruise on his face after Flash punches him and kicks him in the gut. Peter later puts Flash into a frightening headlock.
  • Spider-Man pummels and humiliates criminals sometimes to the point that you almost feel sorry for them. He also beats up several police officers in an effort to get away to fight the Lizard. He gets tasered and shot in the leg. He falls through floors from very high buildings, sometimes dodging dislodged bits of masonry in the process. Cars get ripped apart. Civilians are harried, assaulted and biologically transformed by the Lizard. There are lots of intense action sequences ,and the battles between Spidey and Lizard are very intense, especially their battle in the sewers.

Profanity

  • When Peter calls Gwen to tell her the Lizard is heading towards where she is, she hangs up and he says the word, ''You Mother Hubbard!'' When Peter shocks himself he shouts "Mother--" but it's cut off.
  • Name calling like "stupid", "loser", etc.
  • Contains infrequent use of mild coarse language like "Bitch", "Damn", "Hell", and "Ass".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A Taxi Driver asks Conners if he's "tweaking". This is slang for being under the influence of drugs.
  • A guy on a subway puts a bottle of beer on Peter Parker's forehead when he's asleep.
  • A criminal steals a case of beer as well as the cash register in a gas station

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The atmosphere is just kind of dark like more dark than usally inna Marvel movie
  • A man transforms into a giant lizard, and his appearance as the Lizard may be frightening to younger viewers.
  • A fleeing criminal runs into an elderly man and accidentally drops a gun and the two get into a fight over the gun and the criminal shoots the older man in the chest; a teen boy's emotional reaction to the death is intense and the whole scene could be disturbing.
  • A man's death is shown after he is stabbed through the back by large claws while a teen superhero screams in grief.
  • There is a series of scenes that show a teen boy hunting down a criminal in the backstreets of New York City (these scenes may be disturbing or intense for younger viewers).
  • A teen boy stands in a room with genetically altered spiders and he touches a web, causing spiders to begin falling onto him and he is later shown being bitten in the back of the neck by one of the spiders; later a series of images of different species of spiders and various spider bites are shown (these sequences could frighten those with arachnophobia).
  • A monster claws through the roof of a car, grabbing at the passenger with his clawed hands.
  • In a somewhat prolonged scene, a child is trapped in a burning car hanging from a bridge (he is saved at the last second).
  • A mouse is forcefully injected with lizard DNA; later, he mutates into a lizard-mouse hybrid that attacks and eat another mouse (the scene may be graphic and disturbing).
  • A SWAT team inhales an airborne biochemical weapon and they convulse as they turn into lizard-like creatures, which could be jarring for younger viewers.
  • A frightened teen girl hides in a dark area behind an object and monster suddenly appears, accompanied by intense music.
