The regular episode that was scheduled for this time slot was canceled, to give Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo time to write the "rebooted" Nitro that would happen next week. It was a clip show hosted by Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden in an empty arena. It's not really worth recapping, but here goes. Hulk Hogan is signed by WCW. The first episode of Nitro airs live from the Mall of America. Nitro expands from one hour to two hours. Nitro gives a platform to the Cruiserweights. The NWO takes the wrestling world by storm. Nitro shows backstage segments. Eric Bischoff turns heel and joins the NWO. Sting transforms into the black and white "Crow" inspired Sting. Nitro reaches out 100 episodes. Goldberg becomes WCW's first homegrown superstar. Eric Bischoff runs into problems, both real and in storylines. Bischoff makes changes to Nitro to try to regain lost ratings. Vince Russo come in and introduces "crash TV" to Nitro.
