This episode was aired in the fall of 1957. I was born in 1953. It's now 2018 and I'm 65 years old and I just viewed this episode on Amazon Prime. Danny and Kathy are relative newlyweds and their children Linda and Rusty (respectively) are playing their new step-parents against each other in order to live "la vida loca". Angela Cartwright at age 5 was so natural and loveable and Rusty played it so worldwise and savy against the clueless parents (it was 1957) that you just had to laugh out loud at their antics. What was shocking for me at 65 was the punishment visually suggested when the penny finally dropped and the parents got leather belts out. When I was that age in the late 50's and 60's I certainly felt the sting of a leather belt when I had crossed a line and my father felt he needed to "teach me a lesson" - but by gosh - while 90% of the show was really funny - seeing those belts pulled out by the parents was a shock. We haven't seen that kind of corporal punishment portrayed as "funny" in the past 50 years.
