This Documentary made me cry! 😭
dmace-5574817 June 2021
I remember watching this in Health class when I was in 10th Grade, it made me cry so much while watching it. However, it's an interesting look on what it's like when you commit underage drinking, & drinking & driving as well.

Unfortunately, I haven't watched the entire documentary yet. But if I do find a proper link that has the full movie on it, I'll watch it. After that, I'll update my review.

Gruesome but educational

The movie shows us the dangers of drinking as a teen. Something I don't like is that they film the grieving/upset parents of the teens that should've known better. It just rubs me the wrong way, leave them alone, please.

I can handle gore, but this was gruesome, I couldn't even look. Dude the gore was real and it was disgusting. I can handle movie gore, real gore, that was too much. I get the purpose of this documentary, it's showing all these clips to prevent teen drinking, that's a good thing, but I wasn't a fan that they filmed the families, but I understand the purpose. And I'm thankful that some of the teens survived.

Anyways...marcilovesutoo.

Showcases innocent lives ruined, holds teens attention

Warning: Spoilers
I have shown this for years to my high school health students. It still holds up 18 years later. Their are 6-7 stories shown with the main one, with Timmy, the one they return to repeatedly.

There was one story that the girl got into the car with a guy (who wasn't from around here - cuz he was hot) and she ends up permanent brain damage after the accident, as all of the teens in the story do.

But *** spoiler alert *** the main story of Timmy which is wrapped up at the end, we discover he is back to drinking again-- just 5 months after his accident. At this point I stop the film and write on the board a 3000 year old proverb-- A dog always returns to its ________. The students will always guess the words home or master but the correct word is vomit. We then discuss that this isn't about animal behavior... it's about us, human behavior.

Finally, if shown to a group, you have to warn them that there will be graphic ER scenes with blood and 2 scenes with drilling into the skull to reduce pressure and swelling. In about 180 students yesterday, 2 students got "woozy" and lightheaded from this.
