It looks like Dobie is joining the US Army when he receives an official draft notice! You have to admit, this story was quite a surprise, yet still has its goofy moments.
Flashback Time....
It all shifts gears and goes back to the early years (note Mrs. Gillis' 40s hairdoo!) when Dobie's mom and dad were expecting him. The big story is they want to "bronze" Dobie's baby shoes for posterity, thus bringing back fond memories and various interwoven wacky family scenes.
You can't top Herb blowing a military trumpet at 6 AM? Sheila Kuehl (Zelda) gets the best lines in this one. Always fun to watch, and her facial expressions are classic.
Long time film director Robert Gordon headed this episode and just had fun. He directed many tv episodes for MY FRIEND FLICKA.
