Fun and amusing
ethereal_heart4 April 2010
Warning: Spoilers
At first, I didn't think much of it. But after watching it bit, I found it entertaining because most of the characters can be funny and some are very cute.

Take Mr. Stubborn for example, he keeps misusing things, refuses to be stand corrected and everything to him is cheap. XD While Mr. Quiet, Mr. Small and Mr. Tickle are simply adorable.

And the situations, they put with most of the characters are hilarious, I tell you.

It may not follow truly to the original books but it doesn't matter I like it all the same. I hope to see more of them as I found out recently.

Love this Show!
fpt721 September 2009
My family loves this show! And with new characters in the 2nd season it just got better! Myself, my wife, and our son find it cute & funny! The colors & voices are great! I hope they keep adding new characters & they should do holiday specials with special new characters! We find it entertaining & it reminds me of the old books & things from when I was a kid! Its also good to see more merchandise coming out for the show! Hopefully happy meal toys will come soon! The interactions between the characters are always good and the little themes for the segments are cool. And its good to see its got a new afternoon time slot so more people can catch it on!

stop reading too much into the accents
loilars8 June 2008
everyone has their own opinion, but my little girl loves this show. is it silly and stupid? of course, but it's got some wit and being 31 i remember all the books as a kid so it's a kick to see this show now as i don't remember the old one everyone is talking about.

now to those complaining about the accents i say.......GET A GRIP!! so Mr. rude has a french accent. so? first of all, who cares? people are so uptight anymore it's really sad. secondly, that's been a stereotype forever, the rude Frenchmen. who cares?!!!!!!!!!!!? why can't people just laugh anymore about stupid things like that? who cares about the accents, it's just people trying to make up voices. i always hear someone complaining that an accent on some show is a stereotype and every time i hear the word stereotype i want to scream. how does a stereotype become a stereotype? so get over the stupid accent thing and enjoy a goofy show that's fun for kids. all i would say is, if Mr. rude had a regular American accent, wouldn't that be offensive to Americans? so get past that and enjoy a fun show and laugh a little. there are a lot of terrible cartoons out there and this one is fun.

In defense of a great show...
TheLittleSongbird4 May 2010
...seriously The Mr Men Show is really not a bad show. It is cute, charming, funny and appealing. Even if the first couple of episodes were a little slow, it got better. I can also say that in my opinion that there are a lot worse animated shows out there, some are terrible, some started off good but are now mediocre. This isn't terrible or mediocre in my opinion that is. I grew up on the books and I still like them very much, and I think the show does a good job sticking to the spirit of the books if not always in the details. The animation is bright and colourful, and one reviewer is right that it is like Charlie Brown, which has a wonderful animation style. The music is a pleasant surprise, not beeny-boppish, grating or anything, it is simple and memorable for kids. The story lines are fun and appealing and teach some subtle messages without preaching, as are the characters. The voice acting I think is fine, I am not even going to start dwelling on the accents issue as I for one didn't have a problem with it. Overall, an underrated and fun show, certainly not as bad as the negative reviews or the rating on here say.- that is of course my opinion, which you are fine with disagree with. 9/10 Bethany Cox

it's good...but with few problems
dhein0911 May 2008
Honestly, I don't understand the bad reviews this series is given. These guys have been here for a long time, and I think they need more respect. I'm not saying this show is fabulous, but still, it's good. I do like the ideas on character development. There's a different personality for each character.

I'm a little ticked off by some accents on some characters(Mr. Rude-French Mr. Stubborn-German Miss Calamity-Britian), as are some other people. The dances make no sense and are unnecessary. And one thing I'm wondering...why'd they put this show on Cartoon Network? I would add some points if it was on Nickelodeon instead.

So put it this way-if you're looking for a show that you know you'll love every second of it, this won't be it...but it's not a bad choice for a runner-up. There's something for everyone to enjoy, and if you loved the original series, you'll love this.

wonderful show
AbigailHollingsworth29 July 2008
This show is great! It's based on a series of books for children. It's about different characters who are named for their personalities. ( ex. Mr nervous, Mr. quiet, Little miss chatterbox, etc.) The episodes are about their adventers in dillydale. The series only had 26 episodes for reasons i'm unsure of. The drawings are my favorite because they are like Charlie brown. I'm don't know why some people don't like it. I would give it a chance if I were you.The person who wrote the review me is stupid because first of all all of the characters have accents which I think teaches children that its OK two be different. It's a wonderful show for both children and adults! Watch it on cartoon network on Sunday mornings at 6:00!

Mindless Fun with an Old Timey Feel
mivanoskos5 July 2021
The Mr. Men Show was a short lived cartoon mostly shown on Boomerang. The show was essentially made up of one dimensional characters and simple personalities.

For Example characters like Miss Sunshine or Mr. Grumpy.

Very easy to follow and just mindless fun.

I equate it to a modern day Smurfs.

This show is simply awful, for more than trivial reasons...
Xeonix5 April 2008
This show is horrible, and I love cartoons. Even my kids can't stand it anymore. Seriously, on top of being poorly written, the situations are contrived and uninteresting.

One of the things that REALLY upsets me about this program is the fact that ALL the negative characters (easy to peg: Mr Rude, Ms Scary, Ms Naughty etc...) ALL have foreign accents.

This is a children's show.... They don't know any better, but they do absorb subconscious information such as this, and I am very disappointed in Cartoon Network for letting this slip by. I actually had to pull my daughter aside the other day and tell her to stop calling my friend from Montreal (who sort of sounds like he has a French accent) 'Mr Rude Man' just because of how he talks, on top of having to then explain why it's wrong to generalize people based on something that makes them different from you. If you have kids, you probably know how difficult this particular lesson is for them to understand sometimes, and it really does not help when there is a show for children that unabashedly reinforces the ridiculous and ignorant stereotypes we are trying so hard to banish from the reasonable adults we all hope our children may one day be.

If I could give this thing a 0, I would.

Love it!
la_rodwick17 July 2008
I just love the new "Mr. Men Show". Why did it take them so long to bring this back? I have all the books from when I was little. It is wonderful to see all the characters come to life. Miss Naughty was always my favorite as a kid and she is so fun on the show. I can't wait to see what she will get into next! I also love Mr Messy. The animation is really interesting and gives the feel of the flatness in the old books, but with a lot more color. I also like the website. It's a fun place to go with kids because you can click on each character and hear their voices and see individual videos. I wish I could find more Mr. Men toys out there. I have this old Miss Naughty sticker on a journal that brings back such great memories. Oh well, I love the show! Keep up the good work!

Another ruined Classic kids Show.
C-Rex8 March 2008
The Mr Men Show is probably the worst kid's show I have ever seen. The characters are the wrong shapes and colours; what happened to Mr Nosey's big long nose? Another thing I don't like about the Mr Men show is that there is too much slapstick. Surely in the old Mr Men series, Mr Bump would occasionally have an accident, but in this series, the poor fellow, is smacked, hit, and even chased by bees. THIS IS A KIDS SHOW, not Happy Tree Friends! Another reason I dislike this show is Mr Scatterbrain's poor impression of an American accent, the annoying thing is is that he uses American words such as "bucks" instead of English currency. I'm not sure about the American version, but it can really cheese me off. In my opinion, you should show your kids the old Mr Men series, they have a much better storyline. Just to finish off, there is actually a section of crude humour on one of the episodes, in which (you've guessed it) Mr Bump trips while trying to catch his train, and his suitcase opens, and you can see a pair of briefs inside, along with a whistle sound. (the one men use when they see a hot lady, and Channel 5 even has the nerve to put it on Milkshake) The bottom line, don't bother with this show, it's utter rubbish.

I think it's one of the best cartoons out these days.
cletusandfloyd21 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Any spoilers below will only be for people who haven't seen the shows that have already aired...

I love how "The Mr. Men Show" brought slap-stick back into cartoons. I used to love watching "Popeye," "Looney Tunes," "Tom & Jerry," and Tex Avery cartoons as a kid. Now, with the exception of "Tom & Jerry" (which comes on right after the Mr. Men Show), kids today don't seem to see any of the classic cartoons anymore.

I don't think the accent thing is a big deal either. Not all the negative characters have foreign accents. Look at Mr. Grumpy, Miss Scary, Miss Calamity, Miss Whoops, Mr. Noisy, Mr. Messy, Mr. Lazy, Miss Chatterbox, and Mr. Nosy. Those aren't considered positive personalities, but they're all United States accents.

Someone on here said Miss Calamity was British, I don't think so. She sounds like she's from New Jersey to me (and I've lived in Jersey). Now Mr. Small and Mr. Persnickety sound British. That same person said that Mr. Stubborn sounds German, sounds more Russian to me.

Anyway, I had fun animating on the show. My favorite characters to animate were Mr. Quiet, Miss Whoops, Mr. Bump, Mr. Bounce (all for the slap-stick scenes) Mr. Persnickety, Mr. Stubborn,(all for the acting scenes) Mr. Messy, Mr. Nervous, and Mister Scatterbrain (all for the slap-stick and acting scenes). I'd also add Miss Calamity (for slap-stick and acting), but she was more tedious because she's the only character who isn't symmetrical. Her hair is parted to one side, so you can't simply 'flip' her for a turn-a-round without changing her hair-part to the correct direction.

It was nice to animate using a good amount of squash n' stretch and smears for fast movements. You don't see much of that in today's cartoons. It was also great to animate these characters that I read in the original books as a child--it was like everything came full circle.

Some of my favorite scenes that I animated were Mr. Quiet falling out of a helicopter and clutching to the seat belt, Mr. Stubborn refusing to believe that there is anything wrong with a broken roller coaster (even after they all end up falling out of it from being upside down) and demanding Mr. Strong to put him back on, Mr. Persnickety trying to clean up after Mr. Messy with a vacuum cleaner that vacuums too much mess and explodes, Mr. Bounce bouncing out the trash, Mr. Grumpy getting squashed in a fun house and coming out moving up and down like a xylophone (an old Wile E. Coyote gag), Miss Daredevil and Mr. Quiet riding through a grocery store on a high-powered cycle/smashing through different barrels of fruit/and slipping on a banana peel, Mr. Nervous imagining he's being attacked by a robot, Mr. Small and Mr. Nosy using Mr. Persnickety's sleep walking disorder to clean their house, one where Mr. Messy decides to paint Mr. Persnickety's house/making a big mess, and a Badminton match in which Mr. Strong wails the shuttlecock (yes that's the correct term for it) with his racket so hard that it causes Mr. Bump to fly sky high.

Anyway, it was a fun show to work on and I'm glad some people like it. My nephews love it.

This was my favorite show
foxyloxy-3035513 April 2022
This was my favorite show as a child, I can't remember why but It played everyday right before kindergarden class and I LOVED it.

Looking at modern cartoons now, either I grew up or they're just not trying.

Horray for Everyone!
tommypezmaster5 March 2008
I really really like this show along with the other new Cartoon Network shows shows. However, I didn't like the fact they had a lot of inconsistencies. Like for example, Little Miss Sunshine made small cameos like Lok from Tak & the Power of Juju, and most of the time, Mr. Bump, would be afraid of EVERY single thing getting in his way, even Little Miss Sunshine & Mr. Grumpy. That didn't really stop me from watching the show, and I still watched it. I thought it was pretty great, and noticing that it was a show made a little before The Chop Socky Choops were born, I can say it was actually pretty good. Well, that's my review guys. See ya!

Absolutely dire
quivered-124 August 2008
Producing children's shows nowadays involves either ripping off currently successful shows or finding old shows that were successful a generation ago, buying the rights to them and doing what Ronan Keating did to "When You Say Nothing At All" i.e. murder them. This show seems to be designed to be the gold standard of this kind of thing - it is truly, truly awful.

The scripts are obviously banged out in assembly line fashion. The characters all have regional accents, presumably some sort of attempt at political correctness which completely backfires considering the only French accent belongs to Mr Rude.

It all seems to have very little to do with Roger Hargreaves's original creation - if he was alive today he'd be horrified.

Amazing Show and One That I Remember Growing Up With
lmoriarty-1742011 March 2023
Ignore the review bombing over the accents. The complaints about the "defamatory" accents are unwarranted and stupid. If you watch the original UK version, just about every character in this show has a silly accent. If you are that concerned about how a kids' show cartoon character sounds, especially if they are meant to be silly, then you need to get a life.

In no way does the show intend to perpetuate negative stereotypes with the voices that it uses. If this were the case, then the targeted characters would be defamed and pointed out for what specific accent they had.

This negative press reminds me a lot of The Problem With Apu situation. Apu may have a silly voice, but so does just about every other character in The Simpsons. The point of both of these cartoons is to make fun of ourselves, not to try and hurt someone or their culture.

Beyond this stupid complaint that I keep seeing in these reviews, the show is awesome. For one, the intro itself is top notch. It's still stuck in my head to this day, and every character is perfectly suited for the entire 45 seconds.

Another thing that I love is the relatability of these characters. They may be simple, but their personalities mesh perfectly with what I go through in my daily life.

In addition, this show is very faithful to the original source material. Just like the books, the character designs are fun, creative, and expressive in just about every shot.

For anyone who loves the book series, this show is a must watch.

Not at all as it should be.
TravisBickle8823 October 2008
This show stinks. It's creators have displayed the typical lack of thought and imagination of many kid's shows of the day. It works on the theory that kids will like any show so long as it is colorful and noisy. I have been warned not to pad this comment with "junk words." Are these junks words? I have to make it to ten lines. What do I say? This show is just plain awful. Fred Rogers and Jim Henson were Gods and now they are both gone. It is just sad that nobody had stepped up and made another original and quality kid's show. When someone does I will commend them but nobody has. It seems that as time goes on the quality of kid's television goes way down and nobody out there cares or has the intelligence to see how poor children's's programming is. FIN

The Mr. Men Show's got friends, baby!
DatCrazyRater1514 September 2014
I'm rewriting my review now that the troll who made 19 fake accounts and gave this and Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Tomodachi Life, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Yoshi's New Island, Mario Kart 7, Bravely Default, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Pokemons X and Y a 1/10 is gone.

Anyways, I wanna thank people who gave this cute and funny show 8/10 to 10/10. The show has adorable characters that always make teens smile, their accents are cool to the max, they sing the best songs ever, it has hilarious pranks that you'd wanna play on someone you really hate, funny dances, and some scenes or episodes may be stupid, but trust me, you'll love them, because they're ENJOYABLY and ADORABLY stupid. It also has music, that are WAY COOLER than any music. Rock n' roll, rap, ballad, retro, and much more AWESOMENESS! I love the phrases like "Oh poopity poop!", "Aww pickles", "Somebody needs a tickle", all that I can say is this show is ADORABLE, 100% ADORABLE. When you're bored, you should totally watch this cute, awesome show. It's more than cool. It's...the MOST BEST show on planet Earth!! And the artwork is more than pretty, it's ADORABLE! Everyone would love to see this show get a full 10/10, well, almost everyone.

This show is amazing. I can't believe it's still at 7.9/10 after gaining twenty-something 10/10s. It should be at its old rating 8.8/10 if you see how much 10/10s it got. And give this NO LOWER THAN 8/10. No more 7/10s or 6/10s! They won't help bring it back to an 8.8/10. If I were you guys, I'd give it a 10/10.

As of November 12, 2014, it's at 8.5/10 now! Hooray! I'm glad IMDb removed the spammed 1/10s into this wonderful show and the games irby: Triple Deluxe, Tomodachi Life, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Yoshi's New Island, Mario Kart 7, Bravely Default, New Super Mario Bros. 2, and Pokemons X and Y. I seriously hope that troll is IP banned from IMDb. Too bad The Mr. Men Show didn't get back to 8.8/10. Oh well, at least the counterfeit 1/10s are finally gone, and everything is back to normal.

One of the Best Cartoons in TV History
chococat11028 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
If you want an appropriate show that's a comedy and one that's for kids, The Mr. Men Show is definitely it. Everything that's needed to make a show "one in a million" is all in The Mr. Men Show. I love the topics of each episode, all of the characters' accents especially Mr. Bounce's Indian accent, Mr. Rude's French accent, Mr. Scatterbrain's New York accent, and Mr. Fussy's British accent, and all of the lessons that this show shows, like "to not hire anyone who's very stubborn or lazy". Unlike Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants, The Mr. Men Show has humor that's not inappropriate, with the exception of Mr. Rude farting, but that's just one thing. The Mr. Men Show teaches kids how each personality is taken or excepted by other characters and the meaning for each adjective each character shares or has. I also like how this wonderful show explains each situation from each character. For example, Miss Calamity and Mr. Bump get into accidents, Mr. Messy annoys Mr. Fussy due to his messiness, and Mr. Grumpy gets annoyed by Mr. Tickle tickling him even when he tells Mr. Tickle that "he'll bite his arm". Fans of the original Mr. Men and Little Misses books will love this show. There's no way for you to not like this show. Come on to Youtube and watch it now!

A Defenite Must Watch Series!!
vincentfunfetti27 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
In my personal honest opinion. I think the Mr. Men Show (Along with the Books) are great ways for a child 4-9 years old to have a head start on viewing the world as it is today. With a vast amount of topics to discuss such as Transportation, Communication, and Basic Life Tips (All in a nutshell for kids to process) Along with its Clever Humor, Dance Numbers, and Skits...It also shows kids the consequences of being Rude, Stubborn, Naughty, etc. To a degree where it does not come off as demanding kids to be good, but more subtle to the point where kids understand what happens and how they can not be like that specific character and more like the positive characters who go about life like normal people do, while also having fun.

My 8 year old cousin absolutely loves the Mr. Men show and usually asks me to watch it on my laptop whenever she comes over every other weekend (She just loooooves Miss Sunshine and Mr Bump) and her mother even told me that she hasn't been naughty that often, because she "doesn't want to end up like Miss Naughty" which actually inspired me to write this review. (And because it was a part of my childhood too)

In all honesty, I'm not saying that the show is a miracle worker to make all kids become instantly pure and angelic. But its a good starter for little kids to understand the world around them, on a child's level so that they may process as well, as well as to understand consequences of actions...Heck, maybe they may want to learn more about a certain topic after watching an episode!

A complete disgrace to the source material
MeerkatD8 March 2020
I grew up watching, reading and being read the original Mr Men show. With two little ones now, I wanted to share the experience with them. They are utterly entranced by the stories and original artwork and we listen to the sublime Arthur Lowe Audiobooks in the car. This reimagining takes all the nuances and subtle humour and completely trashes it. I believe it to be an American although we get the British dubbed version. It's brash, dim witted, in your face and completely infantile. Misses the point completely and I'm glad they stopped making it. Truly awful. Three stars as the kids seem to be distracted by the fast action, but they miss out on the charm.

This show is very good :)

Warning: Spoilers
As an emojicat fan I recommend this show to everyone. This is a total elaborate masterpiece. The animation is really fantastic, the voices are sounding very nice. And the best part... The songs featured in this show. They are so catchy and makes me feel like I'm about to sing along. Also, I remember seeing a few videos of this show on YouTube when I was little. And I saw many fanart made for the show on DeviantArt but wow! This show was like back then were it was a happy place. So far, I've been rewatching this show after it ended with two seasons and you guessed it! This goes for my not too long review for my second favorite show. I hope you like it! <3.

Back in the day...
rae_j_2320 May 2008
The ORIGINAL Mr.Men was created in 1971 and was actually really good. The characters didn't really speak, as there was a narrator who was extremely gentile. The plots and flow of THOSE stories, WERE good, entertaining, and cute. Also, those original stories were not racist or suggestively so, in any way. Ah the good old days! What's really funny is that I wasn't even born until 1983, and yet, in 6th grade, watched all the 'movies' and read ALL the books. You would think that a person such as myself, being from a younger generation, would like the "new and improved", however, I really truly believe, that a classic should be left alone, to stay a classic. Wholesome and precious, should not be re conformed to hate and idiocy.
