Fangio, "The Master".

Warning: Spoilers
Juan Manuel Fangio, five times World Champion, one of the great Formula One drivers of all times. His story with vintage rare movies and actual (1981) interview, telling to director Hugh Hudson his story about his long career driving Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes, Lancia and Maserati, the car that gives him last victory in 1957 at Nurburgring. Hugh Hudson makes a fine job. From the beginning with an old Chevrolet until the last season in 1958. Fangio talks about himself into a pub, on a track, near the sea at Montecarlo. A beautiful sequence, Fangio and Monza track, 1981, seventy years old with his old helmet, waiting the mechanics at work on F.1 Alfetta 159. The track, the man, the car... Silence, then Fangio takes his seat at the wheel of the car and starts the engine... what a music! Dramatic scene, the reportage about his last victory in 1957 at Nurburgring, with old heavy Maserati 250 F and Collins and Hawthorn, driving new Ferraris, behind him, "The Master". Many sequences from 1971 Monaco Grand Prix, the drivers are Stewart, Hulme, Ickx, de Adamich, Cevert, Beltoise and Reine Wisell. A very nice movies, a very masterpiece, the best actually available.

Very useful for interviews with those no longer here

A bit of unusual visuals and far to many crash scenes not related to Fangio. However, many interviews and scenes with Formula 1 players that are no longer with us.
