This behind-the-scenes featurette on the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie and the (so far) last with Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom goes only for an unusual 14 minutes. Most of these featurettes I've seen go at least 20 minutes, frequently even 30. Unfortunately, even at only 14 minutes, they did not succeed in making it an interesting addition to the film from start to finish. The first half consists mainly of everybody involved with the project patting everybody else's back like going on how Bruckheimer movies get bigger and bigger with every sequel and they definitely want you to believe that Gore Verbinski is the greatest filmmaker alive. After praising these two, they move on to Johnny Depp and finally Geoffrey Rush, who is one of my favorite actors, but I was still appalled by the over-the-top praise. Very basic summaries and character description follow, which will really tell you nothing new if you've watched the films.

Thankfully, in the second half, it improves considerably. We get interesting insights into the work of the makeup-artists, set decorators and, to a smaller extent, stunt-men working on the set. This is also why I recommend this at least to some extent. If you're fan enough to still like even the third PotC, you'll probably have a good time watching these 14 minutes as well, otherwise stay away.
