Peabody's Improbable History depicts LEONARDO DA V-I-N-C-I, an obscure figure from the Middle Ages whose surname is no longer recognized by a standard spellchecker, as a sign painter and amateur dentist, who occasionally dabbles in canvas portraits. Before you wonder how that modest repertoire could earn anyone a namesake ninja tortoise, my research dug up a few interesting facts about Leo's other accomplishments. Though his parents never married and he seldom completed his projects, he sketched out the first plans for tanks, helicopters and adding machines. He also made some notes in the areas of anatomy, botany, astronomy and cartography, not unlike one of Today's college freshmen. This is why he makes a convincing teenager.
