Ernie opens up by showing to Eric another side of himself by reading poetry. Kenny Ball & His Jazzmen perform "Old Man Mose". Ernie is trying to read in bed before going to sleep but Eric is doing his best to disrupt him. Trio Athenee perform "Pancho Villa". Eric and Ernie show Richard Wagner and Edward Elgar at work. They then go birdwatching, although Ernie has an ulterior motive. Malcolm Roberts performs "Please Don't Go Away". Eric is remembering the 25th anniversary of D-day with music by Vera Lynn, although he wasn't in it and only succeeds in upsetting Ernie.
