Avoid this movie at all costs

This is one of the worst movies I've seen during the years. I cannot understand how it'd got such high ratings as it has now. I know that it might be very "cool" or "challenging" to mess around with camera or with video manipulating software when making titles as if for silent movie or making black and white from color movie, but why must that be called some kind of a movie? The plot is very weak and flat. About some kind of psychic H. Wingrave who tries to help people (in this "movie" - 2 people) to reach the other world. What this movie has? Nothing. During first half of the movie what happened? Nothing. Well, of course there are some serious insights that shows Henry is really smart guy. When he touches the lamp which is on and says "the light-bulb is hot" or when he touches under the table and says "here is no ectoplasm. Only ordinary dust". Well, of course, this makes the movie especially interesting, but that is not enough. (<-- read this with your sarcasm glasses on.) The so called music that tortures ears throughout the movie is horrible. It is the worst synthesizer ambient that can ever be created. Of course if you like to play around with your own cheap synthesizer that's OK, to create some freaky-spooky melodies. But that mustn't be the soundtrack of the movie. And it doesn't add anything to it. The acting is good? Well, as for the guys who are randomly picked from you circle of friends or so, it might be good, but for others it is good by no way. AVOID THIS MOVIE AT ALL COSTS. These 90 minutes will never get back to me.

Keep fast forward button pressed

Warning: Spoilers
Wingrave is a ghost hunter who is asked to contact the dead brother a woman who desperately needs to contact him. They hold a seance. The movie is divided into chapters much like a book. The initial part is done in black and white. When they say "English-language" film, what they mean is written English, like a silent movie. Wingrave speaks his thoughts at times in the movie, clearly a later dub. When people speak you do not hear any language at all, only background music. Then you see a screen with what they said, like in the old silents. Sometimes the writing describes things which you can hear and see happening, such as a door bell ringing. There are no special effects worth watching. No blood, no gore, no sex, no nudity, no swearing, just a bad movie. It is a rip off at any price, so I'll be selling my copy on E-Bay. Don't ask me how it ends.

One of the worst you'll see

Warning: Spoilers
WINGRAVE, an indie horror film from Egypt, is undoubtedly one of the very worst films I've ever had the displeasure to witness. It's a crass, stupid, and entirely amateurish production that just consists of a handful of characters in an empty room with a few props to hand. There's no plot, no characterisation, just endless dialogue randomly rendered by on-screen text as in a silent movie. Why they did this I have no idea but it hardly improves things.

A very interesting movie
mkhalifa8830 September 2015
This movie contains a certain ambiance that captivates you, considering this movie is done with practically no budget its very good and an homage to old ghost story movies. There are some interesting ideas in there and also it containing more than one story keeps thing interesting. When it comes to the acting we see some good performances throughout the movie, the music is very good and it really puts you in the mood for the movie, creepy and slow. This is a different type of movie that not all people will like since it has a very specific style that you will either love or hate, but you have to admire what director Ahmed Khalifa is trying to do, this is something that has never been done before and a step forward for Egyptian cinema that hasn't produced a decent movie for more than 20 years.
