Both parts of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, A Child of Fire and The Scargiver, are now streaming on Netflix, but we know that extended editions of the sci-fi adventures are on the way, and it seems they've been given completely different titles.
Though this has yet to be made official, Film Ratings lists the director's cut of Part 1 as "Rebel Moon - Chapter One: Chalice Of Blood," and the movie has also been given an official R-rating for "brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, and language".
As Snyder has previously noted, it sounds like these extended cuts are going to be significantly more adult-oriented than the standard versions.
"They're each about an hour longer than the originals, the PG-13 [versions]," the filmmaker told I Minutemen in a recent interview. "So it'll be nice to see the six hours together. You can take a break, of course. It's a more,...

Rosie Tucker sure knows how to grab your attention with an opening line: “I hope no one had to piss in a bottle at work to get me the thing I ordered on the internet.” That’s just one of the anti-capitalist zingers in the brilliantly titled “All My Exes Live in Vortexes.” Tucker rips modern culture apart in in Utopia Now!, a fresh, biting, innovative and fantastic piece of indie-rock agit-prop tunecraft. These songs combine the 20-something malaise with a critique of the consumerist machine, and what it does to our brains.

Zack Snyder’s tenure in the Dcu was tumultuous as his take on the DC brand and its characters was divisive among fans. The studio itself was not comfortable with Snyder’s dark approach to Superman and Batman, and thus, they demanded a lot of changes when he was making Justice League.

The unfavorable studio interference and toxic nature of the fanbase disillusioned Snyder, and he left Warner Bros. He has talked many times about how Warner Bros wanted to follow the Marvel formula. Now, in an interview with Joe Rogan, Snyder has addressed how he got flak for going against one controversial stance regarding Batman among fans.

After being turned down by Lucasfilm, Zack Snyder proceeded to helm his own Star Wars-inspired franchise, whose first part, starring Sofia Boutella, hit Netflix in December. Unfortunately, while Rebel Moon was visually impeccable, like every Snyder movie is, beyond its great imagery, the space opera didn’t have much to offer, and it was panned by fans and critics alike.
Reflecting on the overwhelming criticism, Boutella, who played the lead in the sci-fi action, expressed how hard it was for her to deal with the pushback. However, the actor did stand by the movie and Snyder’s vision, as she stressed how important the movie has been in her life.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver will debut on Netflix next month, but fans have been anxiously awaiting the R-rated director’s cuts of both movies, which are shaping up to be something epic.
In a new interview with I Minutemen (via The Playlist), Snyder revealed that the R-rated Rebel Moon director’s cuts will likely be released on the same day later this summer, although he cautioned that nothing is official. “Those will come out, probably, on the same day – later,” Snyder said. “We don’t have a date yet, but I think it’s going to be in the summer.“
Snyder continued, “They’re each about an hour longer than the originals, the PG-13 [versions]. So it’ll be nice to see the six hours together. You can take a break, of course. It’s a more, maybe, immersive experience. I’m interested for people to see it that way.

Director Zack Snyder’s sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon” debuted on Netflix late last year, and the sequel, “Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver,” premieres on the streaming service in April, but there’s more. We already knew a director’s cut of the film, or films, was coming, but in what shape or form exactly? In a new interview I Minutemen, Snyder has revealed all, confirming that each of his “Rebel Moon” movies will get director’s cuts, they’ll be about six hours in length and Netflix will likely release them both on the same day.

Big Brother has taken its sweet, sweet time forming the jury of its 25th season. Evictions that mean nothing! A full week with no competitions! Seven jurors instead of nine! It’s been a journey, folks.
Thankfully, after a whopping 72 days (!), the CBS series has finally identified the first juror who will help crown the winner of Season 25 in a few weeks. Nicholas Braun pulled a Cousin Greg-level networking move long before he was cast in “Succession.”
Braun detailed a chance encounter with Oscar winner Quentin Tarantino during the latest episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” joking that he is “never awkward” except around his idols.

This article contains Loki episode 4 spoilers.
Loki episode 4 is, well…we’re just gonna say it…the best episode of the series so far, by far. It rivals even the best chapters of WandaVision in its ambition, scope, and general batshittery. And a good chunk of that comes in the final moments, as well as what comes after.
That’s right, folks. Loki episode 4 engages in that proudest of MCU traditions: a post-credits scene.
Let’s try and make sense of all this, shall we?
Is Mobius Dead?
In what is perhaps the first truly heartbreaking moment on this show, Owen Wilson’s fan favorite Mobius M. Mobius gets himself deleted after confronting Judge Renslayer about the true nature of the Tva, its agents, and the Time-Keepers. Unlike the other Minutemen, notably C-20 and B-15, Mobius hasn’t had a Sylvie-assisted memory reactivation, but he’s savvy enough to realize...

This article contains spoilers for Marvel’s Loki episode 2.
For the bulk of Marvel’s Loki episode 2, titled “The Variant,” the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) teams with the Time Variance Authority’s Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to chase a timeline variant who, according to Mobius, is an alternate version of Loki himself.
The variant is killing the Tva’s Minutemen and collecting their timeline reset charges, which points to the variant having more on the agenda than just hopping through time murdering people. But when the variant is tracked to a Roxxcart superstore in Alabama, circa 2050, and finally confronts the “original” Loki, the latter gets a shock.
The variant is a woman (played by Sophia di Martino) who — judging by her demeanor and the golden horns on her head — at least appears to be a female version of Loki. She vanishes into a time portal and the original Loki jumps after her,...

Nicholas Braun joined British GQ for a lengthy profile in advance of the release of his A24 black comedy “Zola” (in theaters June 30), and he revealed a ballsy encounter he had at age 19 with Quentin Tarantino. Braun was coming off a supporting role in the Disney family adventure “Sky High” at the time, which he had extended into a lead role in the 2008 Disney Channel original movie “Minutemen.” Holding an ad for the Disney movie and spotting Tarantino during a flight, Braun made his pitch.
“I was like, ‘Quentin? Mr Tarantino? Hey, I just want to say I’m an actor. I love your films. We've made a complete and chronological timeline of the events of Watchmen, from the original book to the HBO show. It...wasn't easy.
This article contains nothing but spoilers for Watchmen, both the book and the HBO series.
HBO’s Watchmen timeline is non-linear and occasionally confusing (or “infuriating” as Dr. Manhattan puts it) in its use of time. The book from which it draws inspiration is similarly non-linear and occasionally confusing in its use of time. To make matters even trickier, the show expands upon and even retcons events that take place or are alluded to in the book.
So what’s a fan to do? Why, make a complete and chronological Watchmen timeline, of course! That’s a perfectly sane and normal activity for any well-adjusted adult, and it certainly didn’t give me any severe migraines or make me question my own perception of time at any point.

A review of this week’s Watchmen, “This Exceptional Being,” coming up just as soon as I read Action Comics #1 for the first time…
Many of the most distinct and beloved American art forms were invented by black artists who were then quickly eclipsed in the public imagination by their white imitators. Elvis Presley borrowed liberally from Chuck Berry and Fats Domino, among many others. When they were starting out, white rappers like the Beastie Boys and Eminem often found it easier to get radio play than more established black hip-hop veterans.

The squid rain in Watchmen on HBO has its roots in Adrian Veidt's plan from the original comic.
This article contains spoilers for Watchmen episode 5 and the original book.
Watchmen has always taken place in a world that resembles ours in nearly every way that matters, other than a few little points where reality seems to have taken a sharp turn along the way. One of the most masterful things the original book did, perhaps even more than its groundbreaking approach to treating superheroes as “realistically” as possible, was how it explored all the ways that the presence of superheroes would affect the world in ways great and small. Doomsday Clock is finally revealing, piece by piece, why the Justice Society has been absent from the DC Universe.
This article contains Doomsday Clock spoilers.
A key mystery of the DC Universe since Rebirth breathed new life into the entire publishing line in 2016 has been the fate of the Justice Society. The world’s first superhero team were unceremoniously removed from DC continuity in the wake of the events of Flashpoint. Jsa and most related characters, the Alan Scott Green Lantern, the Jay Garrick Flash, and others, were instead shunted off to a new, modern Earth-2 (and series), which was cool enough, but bore little resemblance to their 1940s mystery men roots.
The absence of the Jsa in the New 52 timeline was never explained. Instead, it was generally accepted that the age of superheroes began about 5 years before the events of 2011’s Justice League #1. That compressed timeline...

A "Watchmen" episodic , live-action 'superhero' TV series has officially been greenlit by HBO, based on characters from writer Alan Moore's 1986 DC Comics property, in a 'remix' of the original material, according to writer, showrunner Damon Lindelof:
"...set in an alternate history where 'superheroes' are treated as fascist vigilante outlaws, 'Watchmen' embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own."
Cast includes Regina King ("The Leftovers"), Don Johnson ("Miami Vice"), Jeremy Irons ("Dead Ringers"), Tim Blake Nelson, and Louis Gossett Jr.
"First and foremost, if you are angry that I'm working on 'Watchmen', I am sorry", said Lindelof, responding to "Watchmen" creator Moore, objecting to Lindelof 'remixing' his work.
"Alan Moore is an extraordinary talent of mythic proportion. I wrote him a letter, parts of which are not dissimilar to this one, because I owed him...

Parquet Courts’ lead singer Andrew Savage, one-half of the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Texas band’s two-headed leadership, is mad as hell. While on the opposite side of the stage, bandmate Austin Brown is getting wistful. That yin-and-yang of punk and funk – as Savage notes in the opening track to “Wide Awake!,” “Total Football:” “Collectivism and autonomy are not mutually exclusive” – lends itself to the very human dilemma at the heart of Parquet Courts’ fifth album, “Wide Awake!”
Often cited as part of the continuum of downtown New York art-guitar bands — from the Velvet Underground through Television to the Strokes — Parquet Courts are the perfect example of rock miniaturization, refining what they do to a hard diamond for those in-the-know. By enlisting pop wunderkind Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton as their first-ever outside producer, Parquet Courts has opened up its musical palette even more than most recent effort, 2016’s ballad-laden “Human Performance.”

Take a look at the casting breakdowns for HBO's "Watchmen" live-action TV pilot, directed by Nicole Kassell ("The Leftovers") based on DC Comics 12-issue comic book mini-series (1986) that starts shooting May 2018:
'Angela Abraham': African-American female cop. Independent and intelligent, she’s also a realist. She’s married to Cal, with whom she has a daughter and is fiercely protective of them both.
'Cal Abraham': African-American male who is the stay-at-home husband of Angela. While he seems at home as the king of his castle and being a loving husband and father, it’s clear his past has a different story to tell.
'Looking Glass': A good looking cop, the native Oklahoman isn’t simple as his rural accent makes him appear to be. A top interrogator and behavioral scientist, he may also be a bit of a sociopath.
'Panda': An ethnic desk cop, he’s cynical...

Lindelof's genre writing credits include "Prometheus" and "Star Trek Into Darkness".
With the release of director Zack Snyder's "Watchmen" (2009) 'Director's Cut' & 'Ultimate Cut', the brand has developed and maintained a strong fan base over the years.
"...The 'Minutemen', a team of costumed crime fighters, was formed in 1939 in response to a rise in costumed gangs and criminals. The 'Watchmen' was similarly formed decades later.

With a couple of months still separating us from the premiere of Pretty Little Liars’ dark spinoff, Ravenswood, all we have to occupy our time is to gush over the recent casting of Luke Benward. And when I say “we” I of course mean all of you and definitely not me because there’s no way I would be smitten by a Disney Channel star like Benward. So what if he’s grown into a fine young man. I’m not that kind of guy, okay? I’m only reporting this for you guys so you have the information. I haven’t even seen Girl vs. Monster, so you can’t say I’m really a fan. I’ll deny it.
Anyway, Benward is joining Ravenswood as Olivia’s (Merritt Patterson) boyfriend Dillon. Hollywoodlife.com describes Dillon as a “good looking, loyal and sweet small-town American teen” who, as far as I can tell,...

Prior to hopping aboard Ravenswood, Luke appeared in several movies, including Dear John and Disney Channel’s Minutemen. He’ll also appear in the upcoming Disney Channel original movie Cloud 9 as Will, a former snowboarding champion coming to terms with the end of his career on the slopes.

Young Hollywood is getting their own Ocean's 11-type film. FilmEngine will make Blacklisted, which is described as a young buddy caper film in the vein of The Dirty Dozen/Oceans. The script comes from new scribes Banipal and Benhur Ablakhad.
We think Nicholas Braun from Prom and Minutemen would be brilliant in this type of film. Which actors would you like to see in this kind of movie? Tell us on Twitter @KidsPickFlicks !

We reported just a few months ago that Vera Farmiga and Andy Garcia were joining forces for the indie dramedy Admissions, and now we’re getting some supporting cast details; Spencer Lofranco, Taissa Farmiga and Nicholas Braun have joined the ensemble. [THR]
The picture follows a man (Garcia) and a woman (Farmiga) who fall in love while they are taking their children on a college admissions tour. Lofranco is set to play Garcia‘s son, while (Taissa) Farmiga will be playing the opposing Farmiga‘s daughter — just as a side note, the pair are actually sisters, with a 21-year age gape. Braun will be playing an “upperclassman who is leading the tour for the prospective incoming freshman class.”
The project was written by Glenn German and Adam Rodgers, who will also be directing. Aside from this project, Lofranco has only been cast in one other movie — a crime thriller titled Jamesy Boy,...

Ladies and gentlemen, your "Dancing With the Stars" Season 12 cast. Or at least part of it.
ABC announced the new dancers in two waves Monday night (Feb. 28) during "The Bachelor." Here's the first set of celebs who will test their ballroom skills come March 21:
Sugar Ray Leonard: The former boxing champ had a cameo as himself in "The Fighter."
Chelsea Kane: You may know her better as Chelsea Staub. She starred in "Jonas L.A." and the Disney Channel movies "Minutemen" and "Starstruck."
Romeo: Don't call him "Lil'." The singer and actor is the son of former "Dwts" contestant Master P.
Ralph Macchio: The original "Karate Kid." We really, really hope his partner figures out a way to work the crane pose into his choreography.
Petra Nemcova: The supermodel couldn't be at the announcement, because she was speaking at the United Nations Monday. That's a pretty good reason.

If you're a fan of Wizards of Waverly Place (TV), then you'll love Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), which is out now as an extended edition DVD from the folks at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The film is suprisingly good. Actually, let me explain this one a bit. I don't mean "surprisingly" in the sense that I expected it to be bad; what I mean to say is it's exceptionally well done, with a movie's story -- as opposed to feeling like three or four episodes strung together -- and the producers obviously had the necessary money at their disposal, as the scope is far larger and the visual effects are significantly better than we normally see on the weekly show. Next, for those wondering why I am watching Wizards of Waverly Place, well, it's part of my gig, but I have an 11-year-old daughter who's a big...
