One of the smaller running jokes in Netflix and Marvel's Luke Cage was Pop's Swear Jar. The jar's purpose in the show seemed pretty simple; a small coffee canister, being used to collect dollar bills from anyone who used foul language in Pop's Barbershop, all while symbolizing Pop's status as the moral centre of a crime-filled Harlem. As it turns out, showrunner Cheo Coker had a greater plan for the jar outside of the show's narrative, as he wanted to use it as a means to attract legendary musician, Prince, for the show's final episode. "The "Swear Jar" was for Prince. I was going to show him the first two episodes and convince him to play in episode 13," Coker revealed on his Twitter page. Prince, who was a devout Jehovah's witness, was known for keeping a swear jar of his own at his home in Paisley Park, Minnesota. Sadly, as we all know,...

Lifetime achieved the best and worst possible results with "The Unauthorized 'Saved by the Bell' Story," a TV movie that premiered last night: It wasn't exactly a cringe-inducing retelling of Dustin Diamond's memoir about his time as Screech on "Saved by the Bell," but it wasn't titillating or scandalous either. The movie had the stench of looming legal ramifications, as if the producers were terrified of Tiffani(-Amber) Thiessen and Mario Lopez arriving with defamation suits at any moment. (That makes sense considering the original memoir contains its fair share of serious accusations.) Subsequently, the only cast member with any dirt to spill was Diamond, whose woes were still pretty mundane as depicted. In other words: We weren't so excited or so scared, and we needed a few hundred caffeine pills just to stay awake during this damn movie. But we did pick up a few interesting...

A Perfect World is a somewhat forgotten Clint Eastwood film, which is a shame. It may not be quite in league with Eastwood's best work (that's a very tall order), but this unconventional crime film is both a gripping chase movie and a nuanced tale of a relationship between a misunderstood criminal and a young boy.
Eastwood directed and starred in this 1993 drama set in 1963 Texas, in which he plays Texas Ranger Red Garrett, a seasoned lawman in pursuit of prison escapees Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) and Terry Pugh (Keith Szarabajka). Shortly after their escape, Butch and Terry break into a house and kidnap 9-year-old Phillip Perry (T.J. Lowther), son of a devout Jehovah's Witness mother.

Sure enough, he makes his point, and then a patient makes it for him.
Also, we see Cristina planning a risky surgery that doesn't involve blood in order to respect a Jehovah's Witness patient's religious beliefs, while intern Leah can't quite believe it.

On this week's Grey's Anatomy episode, Derek and April work around the clock to find a solution for the hospital, while Cristina struggles to respect the religious wishes of a family whose son is dying.
The episode title, "Bad Blood," takes on a literal meaning for the Jehovah's Witness patient, whose parents steadfastly won't allow any blood products to be used in his medical treatment.
Cristina appears to begrudgingly acquiesce to their concerns, but it looks like her intern, Tessa Ferrer's Leah, has other ideas and goes rogue, at least based on this sneak preview clip ...

Elsewhere, Arizona empathizes with a teenager who faces problems similar to her own, and Meredith feels a "flutter" that she thinks may be a sign that something isn't right with her pregnancy.

In case you haven't noticed, Spike Lee has been making the publicity rounds for his latest feature, "Red Hook Summer," which opened on Friday and took in $42,100 on four screens over the weekend. That may not sound like a lot, but it's decent business for a film with no special effects, no recognizable characters and no big-name stars. And did I mention that it's set in the projects, but doesn't use them to terrify the audience into double-locking their doors to keep the bad guys away? The Red Hook Projects, as seen in their namesake film, are a place of danger, yes, but also real beauty. It's a community of mostly poor people, struggling to find their way just like the rest of us.
The main attraction, then, is Spike. And the fact that he's going back to Brooklyn, to continue the saga he began with "She's Gotta Have It...

Who knew Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine was a fan of Rick Santorum? The former Jehovah's Witness is a devout born-again Christian, currently on the latest version of his Gigantour. The rocker has issued the following statement to clarify reports that he has endorsed Rick Santorum for president: .Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate. What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I.ve seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word...

Two and a Half Men 9.12 "One False Move, Zimbabwe!" Review
There's no stopping Walden when it comes to commitment. On last week's episode of Two and a Half Men, he took Zoey on an extravagant dinner to Mexico on his private jet, where he told her that he pulled some strings to get her kid into the school she wanted. This week, it's Christmas and he got her a key to his house. Zoey doesn't accept, and she thinks it's too early to spend Christmas with each other's families.
As for the Harper family, Alan is trying to convince his mom that they should spend Christmas together since it's the first one without Charlie. She has no interest—she'd rather be with the men she hooked up with. Jake is doing what only children of divorcees can do: tell his mom he's going to his dad's house, tell his dad...

Sorry, Justin Bieber. You've just been out Christmas song'd by Community's Troy (Donald Glover) and Abed (Danny Pudi)! If you loved Greendale's best besties' Spanish rap in season one, you do not want to miss tonight's Christmas episode, which also happens to be the comedy's last episode before a very long hiatus (we're still giving you the stink-eye, NBC!). And what holiday season isn't complete without a painting depicting the murder of the Black Eyed Peas? A Parks & Recreation holiday season, that's what! On Community, Abed must convince his Bff/roomie Troy to join Greendale's annual Christmas pageant—despite the fact that he's a Jehovah's Witness....

If "Community" doesn't return to the schedule, we're all dressing up as Human Beings and heading over to Occupy NBC. Seriously. This show is nothing but pure joy and after you watch the Troy (Donald Glover) and Abed (Danny Pudi) rap, you'll understand why.
Thursday's (Dec. 8th) episode has Greendale's Glee Club down for the count. Their bubbly choir teacher Cory Radison (Taran Killam from "Saturday Night Live") recruits the study group to fill in. They cave one-by-one, singing and dancing for the annual Christmas Pageant.
In this clip, Troy is having issues with being part of a Christmas pageant because, as a Jehovah's Witness, he has never celebrated the holiday. Abed comes up with a pretty rad solution and they rap about it, dancers and all.
The holiday episode of "Community" airs this Thursday night. Watch it live, everyone! Show the studio that you love every quirky, meta moment...

NBC has cut together a greatest hits video montage of Donald Glover's character in Community, Troy Barnes. Community is one of the best comedy series to come around in a long time, and in my opinion Troy is the most likable character in it.
Whether he’s manning a runaway trailer/space ship, breaking the ladies’ hearts, challenging his Jehovah's Witness upbringing, “rapping” up the show with his bro-mantic bestie, Abed (Danny Pudi), or fretting about disappointing his hero, Levar Burton, Troy proves you don’t have to be cool in every situation – not when you’re so good looking.
Community returns for it's third season on September 22nd. Enjoy the awesomeness of Glover's Troy Barnes below.

Some time ago, a man grew tired of the Dutch and their stupid tulips and wooden shoes and waged a war of sitting in jail until they went back to their lands of dikes and fjords. That man was Nelson Mandela. Today is his day.
In honor of Nelson Mandela Day, we take a look at the very best Nelsons in the entertainment world, who happen to mostly be white.
Alice Nelson. Alice Nelson, better known as just Alice, was the ever-chipper housekeeper on The Brady Bunch. Between boning Stan the meat man and cleaning up after six most likely incestuous step-siblings and their two ineffective parents, Alice had a lot on her plate. It's possible she had no home life or family whatsoever and simply slept in a dog house in the Bradys' backyard.
Prince. Hypersexual, ambiguous chanteuse Prince was actually born Prince Rogers Nelson. His career probably wouldn't...
