"Gossip Girl" kicked off its final season to abysmal ratings. The Season 6 premiere had less than 1 million viewers. About 800,000 people tuned in to see the elite Upper East Siders begin their final season.
The long-running series got a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. However, these numbers are just preliminary and do not take into account online streams and DVR playback.
"Gossip Girl" isn't the only series to debut poorly this season. The final season of "30 Rock" kicked off to an audience of 3.5 million viewers and a 1.4 rating. CBS's "Made In Jersey" has performed horribly on Friday nights, premiering to 7.8 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. In its second outing it slipped to 6.8 million viewers and a 0.8 rating. "The Mob Doctor" premiered to an audience of 5.1 million people and a 1.5 rating. Its been shedding viewers ever since.

Fast National ratings for Monday, Oct. 8, 2012
Ratings for "The Voice" have typically fallen some after the audition rounds end, but Monday's episode went the other direction. The show scored its best adults 18-49 rating since March and led NBC to victory in the demographic.
CBS, meanwhile, saw its ratings tick up on the night, but the gains could be only temporary as the network's Houston affiliate carried the "Monday Night Football" telecast. When that's factored out, the Eye will likely be about even with last week. The CW had kind of a rough night, as neither the "90210" nor the "Gossip Girl" season premieres reached a million viewers.
Also, "Dancing With the Stars" and "Castle" were both up a little bit over last week and gave ABC the lead in viewers for the night. "The Mob Doctor" continued its slide on Fox.
ABC averaged 12.4 million viewers and an 8.2 rating/12 share in households in primetime,...

The Voice made a successful transition from the blind auditions to the battle rounds with a 4.7/12 among adults 18-49 in the fast nationals last night, up a tenth from last Monday. Newly picked up Revolution (3.1/8) shed another tenth for its lowest-rated fast national to date. NBC won every hour of primetime to win the night in 18-49 and total viewers. This is the first time NBC has won the first three Mondays of the season in people meter history (since at least 1987). We may have seen the last of Fox’s The Mob Doctor, at least for a while. The freshman dropped again last night to a 0.9/2 in 18-49, testing the limits on how low a show on a major network can go before being yanked. Mob Doctor as well as its lead-in, Bones (2.0/5, down a tenth), will be pre-empted for baseball for the next three weeks. It remains to...

The Super Bowl is done, the Oscars have been handed out. Now World Wrestling Entertainment is gearing up for its signature event: WrestleMania.
While not the enormous moneymaker the Super Bowl is, the annual main event in pro wrestling has brought WWE and its host city good returns in recent years.
The granddaddy of wrestling PPVs has created revenue of more than $30 million for WWE in each of the past three years. Total company revenue for 2009 amounted to $475 million.
Its 26th edition takes place March 28 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., following a slew of related weekend events.
In last year's second quarter, WrestleMania generated about $8.4 million in live-event revenue and $21 million in PPV sales thanks to nearly 1 million buys, which helped lay the groundwork for a WrestleMania revenue contribution of $32.2 million.
That compares with the $68 million-$81 million in annual ad revenue recorded for the Academy Awards...

Complex Magazine rounds up their 50 favorite Photoshop moments in honor of the software's 20th birthday.
Photoshop turns 20 this year, and in honor of 20 years of making the impossible possible--or at least easier--Complex Magazine has teamed up with Brooklyn design studio Chips to gather their 50 favorite moments in Photoshop history. They're hilarious, and hilariously true.
All the memes are here, from the Montauk Monster to Nicolas Cage. Cory Arcangel's gradients make an appearance. So does Coudal Partners' Layer Tennis. On a more serious note, they include Brian Walski's infamously manipulated Iraq war photo for the L.A. Times and Iran's faked missile launch. But it's Complex, after all, so the most screen time goes to awesomely bad mixtape album covers, most by the mad geniuses of Pen and Pixel Graphics, who rose to fame on the '90s Houston rap scene. It only speaks to the program's power that it...

In round two of the juice packaging cage match that started late last year with the Tropicana fiasco, Minute Maid unveils a new look that hews to its heritage.
Having watched closely the food fight Peter Arnell triggered with his short-lived Tropicana packaging redesign for Pepsi, Coca-Cola officials have unveiled a fresh-squeezed makeover of their own iconic MinuteMaid brand.
The redesign involves the key brands, primarily MinuteMaid in the U.S., in the beverage behemoth's juice portfolio. Unlike the Tropicana debacle, in which Arnell abandoned the juice brand's visual heritage, MinuteMaid's new design builds on elements of its own former identity, including the black rectangle and white logotype lettering. But it adds a green horizon mark, and fruit photography to buck up the idea that all this orangey flavor is not just chemicals, but the real thing.

Indie film and video site iKlipz quietly went under this summer, though one of its original web series commissions has managed to find some daylight on Funny or Die this week. The company folded while the show was in production on future episodes, so as of now Seth & Avi Show is just three episodes. The bro-comedy is created by writing duo Seth Menachem and Avi Rothman, with each episode the pair playing themselves "Avi is continuously pulling his best friend Seth into sticky situations," said Menachem when describing the setup. Incidentally, the series itself is a little preview of the pair's in development series Partners which they recently sold to Starz. Rothman is a familiar face around here as the star of Atom.com's underrated gem Modern Day Jesus, which popped out last winter. Word is that they are pitching that series to Comedy Central for a possible half-hour TV pickup.
