Dreamboat/Gopher, Isaac & the Starlet/The Parents/The Importance of Being Johnny/Julie and the Producer: Part 2
The Love Boat
This ambitious two-part episode was conceived as a full-fledged musical, featuring a full-length score of songs and dances performed by the series regulars and guest stars. In addition to well-known standards by Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jerry Herman and Johnny Mercer, the score also utilizes special material composed especially for the episode by Ray Jessel. The musical supervision and direction was undertaken by Peter Matz, who provided similar chores for The Carol Burnett Show (1967).
Juliet Prowse's gowns were designed especially for this episode by Bob Mackie.
Linda Evans, John Forsythe and Ernest Borgnine make cameo appearances on the Paramount lot in the final scene.
