Olivia Benson : Who's the woman with Tucker?
Odafin Tutuola : You're asking us?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Yeah, we got you in the divorce.
Amanda Rollins : Bartender told me that's his, uh... that's his new wife. She's a nurse. They eloped a month ago.
Olivia Benson : Oh. Good for him.
-
Amanda Rollins : Did the son of a bitch make bail?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : No. Once the judge heard about his private planes, his multiple passports... if he's not a flight risk, no one is.
Odafin Tutuola : He can cool his jets at the jail they were gonna name after him.
-
Olivia Benson : Fin, I didn't expect to see you at Tucker's retirement party.
Odafin Tutuola : I'm here for you, not him.
Olivia Benson : Oh. Rollins, you brought reinforcements.
Amanda Rollins : Yeah, they let him out for an hour.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Yeah, barely. Thank god I aged out of sleep.
-
Amanda Rollins : She didn't make it?
Olivia Benson : She knew what she was doing. She shot herself through the heart.
Odafin Tutuola : I'm sorry.
Amanda Rollins : Well, I saw her throw a drink at Tucker. What was that about?
Olivia Benson : No idea. You know, I knew her, we were friends. I hadn't seen her in a while and, uh, she was bright, she was ambitious, and then... and then I knew that she had a rough time over at Vice, and she just... she just crashed and burned.
Amanda Rollins : Rest in peace.
Olivia Benson : We've been saying that too much.
-
Olivia Benson : The thing that gets me is the way that Rachel was talking last night. It was like... it was like I had the life that she should've had.
Amanda Rollins : I'd take that with a grain of salt.
Olivia Benson : Back then, NYPD... being a woman was hard enough, but being a woman of color?
Amanda Rollins : Yeah, I get that, but it was probably more than one thing that pushed her over the edge.
Olivia Benson : It just bothers me because a few years ago, we ran into each other and we said let's get a cup of coffee. And then I adopted Noah and I got promoted and just never followed through.
Amanda Rollins : And you can't be responsible for everybody.
Olivia Benson : I know, I just wish...
Dominick Carisi Jr. : [entering with a knock] Hey, Captain, you got a minute?
Olivia Benson : Sure. What's up?
Amanda Rollins : [seeing his look] You need the room?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Yeah, yeah, kinda. It's... it's not about you.
Amanda Rollins : [sarcastic relief] Thanks.
-
Amanda Rollins : [at Tucker's retirement party] Not too late to sneak out.
Olivia Benson : Nope, he's just seen me. I guess I should introduce myself to his new wife.
-
Amanda Rollins : So, are we good to go on the arrest warrant for Gary Wald?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Wald runs global security firm, right? So if there's anything out there on Tucker, he's gonna find it? Is Tucker okay testifying against his former partner?
Olivia Benson : Tucker's clean.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : And you believe him? Took him long enough to come around on Rachel.
Olivia Benson : If this goes to trial, how long will it take? Months?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Could be years. Why are you asking?
Olivia Benson : There's a reason that Tucker wasn't himself before.
Amanda Rollins : Captain, what are you talking about?
Olivia Benson : Don't make me spell it out.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : So we need to do this without him?
Olivia Benson : Yes.
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Okay. We have the tapes. I'll get you the search warrants. Also see if you can flush out anybody from Vice from that time.
Amanda Rollins : Anything else?
Dominick Carisi Jr. : Yeah. Pick up Gary Wald.
-
Amanda Rollins : Tucker lied to you?
Olivia Benson : Or Rachel lied in the video, but I don't think so. Tucker seemed off.
Odafin Tutuola : Never trust an IAB cop, no matter how close you've been.
Olivia Benson : Fin.
Katriona Tamin : You know, how do we even work this case? Are we supposed to go back and check every supervisor she's ever had?
Olivia Benson : Okay, before we cast the net that wide, let's look into who was in her life now. Maybe she disclosed to someone.
-
Katriona Tamin : Heard you guys had a rough night.
Amanda Rollins : Been a lot of those lately.
Katriona Tamin : Captain knew her? She doing okay?
Amanda Rollins : That and the loss of her brother, it's a lot.
Odafin Tutuola : She's been on the phone with 1PP all morning, the grief guy's in there with her now. Chief Garland says we all gotta check in with him.
Katriona Tamin : All of us? Is that necessary?
Amanda Rollins : Yeah, I mean, we need to start talking about this, and not sweep it under the rug.
-
Odafin Tutuola : Hey, Tucker. You cracking the whip?
Ed Tucker : Trying to fast-track a new kitchen for my wife with non-union labor. Guys, just put it down on the inside of the door. I'll be right in.
Amanda Rollins : Actually, Captain, we need you to come with us. We have a few questions.
Ed Tucker : You couldn't call first? Avoid embarrassing me in front of my family?
Odafin Tutuola : You do that when you were IAB?
Ed Tucker : That was different. I was dealing with dirty cops. Can you give me a minute and let me tell my wife where I'm going?
-
Olivia Benson : [finding his office trashed] Oh, my, Dr. Lindstrom, are you okay?
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : I'm fine. This must've happened while I was at the hearing.
Amanda Rollins : Wow.
Olivia Benson : I'm sorry.
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : They broke into my desk, but they didn't bother to take prescription samples or my checkbook.
Olivia Benson : Was anything missing?
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : Two things. My laptop and Ralph Morris' file.
Olivia Benson : They must have been worried that the court was gonna order you to turn your notes over.
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : And now they have them.
Amanda Rollins : Well, we'll call CSU, get a team in here and run prints, look for touch DNA.
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : Yeah, I can save you the time. I had a visit to my office here late last night.
Olivia Benson : From who?
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : Gary Wald, ex-cop.
Olivia Benson : Yeah, we... we know him. What did he want?
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : Well, the same thing you want. To know what Ralph Morris said just before he took his own life.
Amanda Rollins : But you didn't tell him.
Dr. Peter Lindstrom : No. I can't. But without breaking confidentiality, I can tell you that your friend Ed Tucker must know everything I know.
-
Amanda Rollins : So, Carisi's taking Lindstrom to court?
Olivia Benson : Yeah. I wouldn't count on that working, either. Where are we?
Amanda Rollins : Well, in 2004, Rachel made Detective under Captain Gary Wald and Sergeant Ralph Morris. She partners up with Detective Guevara.
Odafin Tutuola : From Tucker's file, she hooked up with all three of them plus a UC.
Katriona Tamin : Ralphie? I don't believe that.
Amanda Rollins : It would explain Gary's leverage over him.
Odafin Tutuola : We were able to trace the burner cell. Gary and Ralphie exchanged calls before he killed himself.
Olivia Benson : Okay, so after Rachel's suicide, Ralphie feels guilt, Gary leans on him to keep quiet, and... Ralphie just doesn't see another way out.
-
Amanda Rollins : [watching Fin and Carisi question Tucker] "Her choice." It sounds like she was slut-shamed into keeping her mouth shut, and Tucker made sure she understood exactly how that was gonna play out.
Olivia Benson : I just can't... I can't see Tucker covering up a rape, even... even if she had a rep.
Amanda Rollins : It happens all the time, Liv, and if you ask me, he's still covering it up.
Olivia Benson : [hearing a knock on the door] Kat, we're in the middle of something.
Katriona Tamin : [getting a little choked up] Sorry, um, I just...
Olivia Benson : What? What's the matter?
Katriona Tamin : Um, my old sergeant, Ralphie Morris, he just killed himself. Two hours after we talked to him.
-
Chaplain : NYPD, huh? You people didn't honor her in life, but now you're gonna honor her in death.
Amanda Rollins : Why do you say that, Reverend?
Chaplain : You threw her away. Not only one of the finest cops I've known, but one of the best people.
Amanda Rollins : That's what we hear, too.
Chaplain : I knew her since she was a child. I saw her go from being top of her class to a step from homeless these past few years. I'd been letting her sleep in the church basement.
Katriona Tamin : Mental health? Drug problems?
Chaplain : Yes, but don't let yourself off the hook that easy. Department pushed her over the edge.
Amanda Rollins : Rachel made some accusations about being abused on the job. Now, did she tell you anything about that?
Chaplain : Damn right she did. She said she'd been raped by someone she worked with.
Katriona Tamin : Did she say who?
Chaplain : No. Just that it was when she was at Vice. Now, pardon me. I... I have a eulogy to prepare.
Katriona Tamin : Thanks.
Amanda Rollins : [turning to leave] Vice? I ran Rachel's NYPD records. She was there in 2004.
Katriona Tamin : I think my rabbi was at Vice back then. If he knows something, he'll tell me.
