From this episode on, rival station ITV began screening the series
Hunter (1984) against Kenny Everett on Saturday nights.
The popularity of the US series was immediately apparent, with Hunter ranked 10th in the UK charts and watched by 12.58 million viewers, and Kenny Everett at 28th place in the charts with 9.91 million viewers, a drop of 3.33 million from the previous episode.
The episodes competing with Hunter averaged at 9.13 million, and 30th place in the chart. This was a significant development as it saw the ratings of The Kenny Everett Television Show continue to decline throughout the remainder of its run, the programme unable to recapture the audience and momentum it had lost.
