The movie "The Freedom Writers" was published in 2007. The story is based on the diary entries from the students of Wilson High School. Erin Gruwell is a first time teacher at Wilson High School. Her English class is separated in different ethnic groups. Some of the students live in projects and have to fight to experience the next day. For those reasons most teachers gave this class up. Erin is the first teacher who not only wants to open the pupils's eyes, also the eyes of the English-headmaster Margaret to give those pupils a chance to be educated. Step by step the class moves together like a little family. The student's attitude towards life and school changes. "The Freedom Writers" is a very sensitive drama which shows that hope dies last. Hilary Swank embodies the character of the optimistic and benevolent Erin Gruwell. Also the music fits to the several scenes. All in all, I would recommend the movie " The Freedom Wirters" to those of you who like teenager dramas and want to make up their minds towards pupils living on the streets.
