- A woman in labor with life-threatening complications is held down and forced to have her abdomen cut open in a make-shift caesarean section. She is writhing and screaming in pain, begging the surgeon to stop. It is extremely disturbing. There is also graphic surgical imagery of the procedure with lots of blood.
- A woman dies during childbirth after her husband elects to prioritize the child's life over the mother. She is subjected to excruciating pain, and we see it in detail. We later see a shot of her dead body -- it is an enormously gory scene depicting vast blood loss on and around her body.

- Off-screen death of an infant. We only see the shrouded body, no other imagery of the child.
