Weakest episode of the season
umer_salman23 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The themes of the show are all over the place. That symbol shows slavery? But that demon child being born? That was just shrugged aside. No explanation? Hello?

Needs a continuity supervisor

I like the show, but they need to have someone who checks on the continuity. There's a lot of issues.

Hey Stranger....

Warning: Spoilers
So in this EP., David and Kirsten follow up with David's father, on the drawings that he did long ago.

And Ben, he is asked to put some voiceover to the GOTHAM GHOSTS footage to make his commentary seem more friendly to the show.

And at this commune, or whatever it is where David's DAD , LEON, lives, everything seems influenced by these SYMBOLS that came from the CODEX. Leon's Art, Leon's Wife's Pottery, hell even the Sangria is influenced by symbols!!!

+1 Star for the LONG opening sequence.

Back at home, MR. BOUCHARD is back...played by Patrick Brammell, loved his show, GLITCH. The kids are happy to see him even if SHERYL is not. Of course that's perfect timing for Kirsten and David to be high on drugs and Sangria over at the COMMUNE.

AND OH DEAR, KIRSTEN IS OUT WANDERING AROUND IN THE CORNFIELD AND FINDS ESTHER OUT THERE AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BABY???? LOL.... What kind of demon baby is that???? Oh my!!!

So the Bouchards close out the VR game. Good job Bouchard!! Ben makes out with his GOTHAM GHOSTS costar. Kirsten is done flirting with David while they are both stoned.

Kirsten doesn't seem happy to see ANDY back at home!!!! That's your husband, woman!!!

I liked this EP but man I don't like a lot of these characters, including Kirsten.

What about the whole gross baby thing.
Lodja24 November 2019
Was the entire thing a hallucination? Did the six month lady have something, did anything at all happen in the corn field?

The world is weird
travinorbit-7273429 November 2019
It looks like I must be one of very few calling this episode one of the best so far. It goes a little off the rails, but it's all the better for it. Not a lot of story arch progression, but the sigil intrigue is growing and it's a fun little trip down a demented side alley. The scene in the cornfield is... well, see for yourself. I would call it brilliant.

Love this show

Warning: Spoilers
I love the way this episode left alot of unanswered questions and openings for future storylines. The birth in the cornfield was perfect for the premise of a paranormal commune that routinely and ceremoniously summons ghosts.

Meh
Calicodreamin13 October 2020
This episode didn't do much, no real storyline progression and another unfinished subplot.

what wasnt to like?
garabedian12315 October 2020
The world is coming to an end by the way. And Kristen is somehow in the middle of it all. In this episode they suspected David's father of being a demon or making a deal with the devil. Its beyond obvious that this is exactly what happened. But Kristen and David just overlook it all because of the drugs they took. Freaky episode...and Kristen's' husband is alive. Well that makes no sense. Maybe he is a demon?

What? Huh.
LegendaryFang5627 July 2021
This episode was full of weirdness. Probably the most yet. "What?" and "huh." being the most suitable reactions to this episode.

cornfield with tomatoes?
dchewski6 August 2022
Strange episode, intriguing, but I now can't get over not understanding why there are tomatoes growing in a cornfield? I tried looking up if this is a normal thing, but everything says they shouldn't be grown together be cause both susceptible to same worm type pests. "Plants to Avoid Planting with Tomatoes Plants that should not share space with tomatoes include the Brassicas, such as broccoli and cabbage. Corn is another no-no and tends to attract tomato fruit worm and/or corn ear worm. Jul 25, 2022 " Leaves it more open to did these things happen or was it hallucinations or what is what. Loved the Ben Vanessa weirdness. Glad kids beat game with Dad. Keeps me hooked with what is next. The episode was like a bridge episode with no hard story begin or end.

Just Dumb, Not Evil
Johnny_West22 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
While Katja Herbers and Mike Colter are visiting his father, drinking hallucinogens, and cuddling together, her Mom is in her therapy office having sex with the satanic Michael Emerson. Why does a therapist have a bed in her office? Her office is next to her house, and she has her bedroom in her house. So why would she have another bedroom in her office?

Katja Herbers has no clue what is going on in her home, with her husband, her mother, her therapy office, or her children. Her children play with the satanic Michael Emerson on a daily basis, because Grandma brings him along so she can have sex with him while she is taking care of her grandchildren. Grandma is horribly irresponsible and self-serving.

Katja Herbers long lost husband finally comes home from all of his mountain climbing trips. He has no connection with his wife, and after three months gone he just pops back in without any notice?

When he finds Grandma in bed having sex with Michael Emerson, he promises to keep her secret from his own wife. He has no respect for his wife and her therapy office, or their marital home.

Mike Colters finds out a lot of disturbing things about his father and his two bisexual wives, but he just shrugs it off thanks to being under the influence of drugs. Mike Colters is doing drugs in nearly every episode. He is a good actor, but as a character he is becoming a zero.

Worst of all, the four bratty kids are screaming their lungs out once again.

I was loving the series....
wbystry-593-88016624 November 2019
The Kings were writing a creative series. I love the line they were walking between science and faith but this episode feels like it was re-written by the network suits. The unnecessary fake emotional drama isn't what fans of this series tune in for...imho. I hope it was an aberration.

Not the best...
kurtles-0925724 August 2021
This is episode differs from the rest... but it was entertaining watching them act "drunk". It was done better than most "drunk" scenes.

Supernatural rip-off
MariaLBD12 May 2024
It was bad enough two episodes ago when they kind of did a Ghostfacers thing, but Rose opens up her mouth and looks just like a leviathan? Come on! I like this show but recycling ideas from Supernatural (and possibly other genre shows I haven't seen) is a bit over the top.

I need two hundred some more characters in order to post but I think I've already made my point and this is just silly and I'm only typing more to hit the limit. Benjamin from Lost is so creepy. That actor (Michael Emerson, I think, is his name) is sooooooo typecast as a creepy, weird guy. I don't think we'll ever see him as anything else.
