George W. Bush -- who’s more or less spent the last two years on a self-imposed media blackout since turning over the keys to the Oval Office to Barack Obama -- is back on television tonight, in an interview with NBC's Matt Lauer on the eve of his memoir, “Decision Points,” out Tuesday. The hourlong primetime special, "Matt Lauer Reports," airs at 8:00 p.m. (Et) on Monday. How bad a drunk was George W. Bush before he gave up alcohol at the age of 40? "I wasn't a knee-walkin' drunk," the former president tells Matt Lauer in an interview previewing his new memoir, Decision Points. "I could easily have a beer or two, or a martini, before dinner, bourbons, B&Bs. I was a drinker." Of his relationship with alcohol, Bush says, "It became a love and, therefore, began to compete for my love with my wife and my daughters." It also got him in trouble with his parents. Bush recounts for the special Matt Lauer Reports, airing Monday,...

New York, New York (X17online) - Former President George Bush says that Kanye West's statement at a Hurricane Katrina benefit in 2005 was one of the "most disgusting" memories of his presidency. The 33-year-old rapper said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." He made the bold remark during a televised Concert For Hurricane Relief. West went on to say that he blames Bush for America helping "the less well-off as slow as possible." In an interview with Matt Lauer, Bush says: "He called me a racist. And I didn't appreciate it then. I don't appreciate it now. It's one thing to say, 'I don't appreciate the way he's handled his business.' It's another thing to say, 'This man's a racist.' I resent it, it's not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency." Matt Lauer Reports primetime special on NBC will...

Standing firm that his decision to invade Iraq was the right one, revealing that he considered dropping Dick Cheney from his 2004 campaign to "demonstrate that I was in charge," and even admitting that a televised insult from Kanye West represented the lowest point of his presidency, former President George W. Bush has put pen to paper for a memoir, Decision Points, due from Crown Publishers on Nov. 9. Talking about the book in his first TV interview since leaving the Oval Office, Bush met with NBC's Today show co-anchor Matt Lauer in Midland, Texas, from his childhood home and church, and from Centennial Park.
