Good Enough
PennyReviews13 March 2020
" The Game : Towards Zero " was a nice drama.

The first episodes were confusing, as the drama throws the viwer straight into the story without background information about the characters of the main lead's ability. Plus, you know straight away who the serial killer is. However, the drama weaved a nice, compelling story, full of thrilling moments, intensity and twists. The melodrama was good too. So, the story can keep the viewer on the edge of their chair till the very ending. The latter was pretty great and well presented. But the highlight of the drama was the creation of an intriguing villain. They gave him a strong background story, a human side when he was doubting his own actions and wanting to change, and a some interesting connections with the main characters. The romance, however, felt a bit fake. It was more like love in the first sight, as the drama focused more on the case than the couple, as it should really. The male lead's background story was not well presented and they didn't explain his background well. Still, the performances were great.

So, overall, 7 out of 10.

It hooked me with 2 episodes
lmerana20 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was really b plot and story by the first 6 episodes. But it became dragging when they already know who is the killer but always get away for some dumb reasons. Also, the girl was hospitalized for four years but her hair did not even grow longer. I liked how Taecyon did not change his looks even after serving in the military. It would have have been great if he performs more action scenes.

A crime/thriller series that's way too good and fresh after a long time!
shtanushree27 July 2021
I generally don't end up writing reviews, but this is one of the shows that compelled me to do that. It wasn't like anything I've ever watched. The story is unique, and moreover, with such a storyline that contains so many fantastical elements, the performances of the actors made it all come alive.

This is the first time I've watched Lim Ju hwan, and even if he's the antagonist, he left me tear-eyed. The journey is so emotional and so impactful. Ok's a favourite but this time, it's Ju hwan that stole the show for me.

The romance part isn't very detailed and does lack some depth. But nevertheless, the storyline covered up for it especially since its genre is manly thriller. Do watch this one if you love mystery. I can vouch that it will be a watch that'll be worth it. EVERY BIT OF IT.

Edge of your seat suspense
leahcubed18 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is a 2020 romantic crime drama with 32, 30 minute, episodes.

Tae-Pyeong (Ok Taec-yeon) has an ability he never asked for and does not like. He is able to see the events and people that exist in the moments leading up to a person's death. Tae-Pyeong, allows few to get close to him and lives in a mansion with his mentor/Teacher/ surrogate father, Baek (Jung Dong-hwan) and Attorney Lee Yeon-Hwa (Ryu Hye-rin). Tae-Pyeong keeps to himself as he has found that he is unable to help change any of the fates he sees. When a serial killer known as the Midnight Killer abducts a girl Tae-Pyeong had just seen, he finds himself pulled into a very convuluted crime. While Tae-Pyeong helps the police with the investigation, he is stunned when he meets Detective Joon-Young (Lee Yeon-hee). She is the first person that he can't foresee their death. It is comforting to look at someone and see normal things rather than a disturbing prophetic vision. Tae-Pyeong and Detective Joon-Young frantically work together to figure out how the past has influenced the present in order to stop a serial killer dubbed the Midnight Killer.

This was edge of your seat suspenseful the whole way through. spoiler alert ** his ability to see the moments before death was very useful to the police, once they believed him. There was a lot around the topic of nature versus nurture in regards to the serial killer. Therewas an attempt to shed the serial killer in a sympathetic light but he was completely remorseless and blamed others for his actions the full way. The story was interesting and compelling and there was depth to all the relationships. Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.

Needed serious editing
phd_travel26 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Liked the cast including Lee Yeon Hee so much I tuned in. The earlier part was involving. Giving the villain a justification is the best part of the show. But this show doesn't have enough plot for 16 episodes. So much circling around and repetitive scenes. Towards the latter third it got ludicrous. The car bombing was stupid. The non communication of crucial information was frustrating. Why must the cops stand right next to the bomb disposal team? The romantic plot was handled prudishly for 2019. The hero and heroine are so stupid sometimes I was rooting for the villain played by Im Joo Hwan. This series had an interesting premise. Would have been better at half the length.

Stupid decisions ruin the show
jaxhapc24 February 2022
While the actors and the action are fun to watch, the decisions these characters make as they pursue their police careers are unbelievably stupid. They failed to engage in the most basic characteristic of good police work and consequently many bad things happen that otherwise would not. I was very disappointed in the show in general although it was interesting to watch for a while.

There was an attempt
Park_Min9 June 2023
The first half is what the drama should've been and the second half is what the drama shouldn't have become. The start was decent enough with a compelling concept and characters, however, everything began to crumble down after the first half. The pace significantly slowed down, an overwhelming amount of repetition and flashbacks was shoved in, the mystery was over at that point, the cat and mouse chase became boring and there was a general decrease in the collective IQ of the masses. Nonetheless, the story itself was weak and didn't explore any interesting ideas. The whole thing was infested with plot holes even after excluding all the supernatural elements. The inclusion of romance was a hit or miss at times. I'm disappointed that Park Won Sang didn't have a bigger role in the drama.

not even 15 minutes into the first epsidoe and allready u can see the "quality"
imdbmoviereviews17 February 2021
I mean isn't the point of this series is death... that's the entrie synopsis and storyline basically... and yet on episode one we see such horrific inaccuracies and ideas pushed as shooting people in the legs being a good thing (and while i won't give any spoilers this ideas is fairly vague so...)

let me tell you somthing to shoot somone in the leg is extremly deadly when you hit a organ/... well it's also bad and well surgery and..... but at least they have more then 2 minutes before they completly bleed out i'm just saying.... and this is just the first example of what i'm expecting to end up as a really poorly written series

becuse when you're entire story is focused on saomthing like death and you're too lazzy to do 5 minutes of reaserch to look into the subject.... well then

idk what to expect and i mean i see this all the time and don't usually complain but when tv series give such horrible advices that could potentially save or kill somone... well then that's a problem... (and yeah medical dramas and alike also have lots of inaccuracies but you don't really see people self medicating like that...)
