A masterpiece
zoltyswirus20 February 2021
The storyline, the script, the acting, the raw emotions. It's a masterpiece, deserving every attention. It shows regural people, regular life and how it often isn't easy. The series handles important issues in a way that feels both relatable and very powerful. It should be compulsory watching for young people, especially men. Crying guaranteed.

Genuine, and a unique part of Norwegian culture
tux-1022011 February 2021
As I'm seeing a few low reviews on this list, as a Norwegian I'd like to clarify a few things. The show's creator wanted, in large part, to make a show illustrating mental health issues that happen to young men. It's something that doesn't really get touched upon in modern media (although, if you have examples, correct me if I'm wrong). The scene that these people are involved in, are pretty much exclusive to Norway and Sweden in my experience. Putting a V8 engine in a Volve 240, is not something that most people would think to do. But in a Norwegian subculture called "rånere", it's a way of life. Hanging out with your friends, fixing and improving your car, living the easy life. For some American kids, it might be parties when your parents are out of town, or frat parties when you've gone away to college. For the young people in this series, this is their culture. Driving, seemingly endlessly, in a small rural community where the options to stimulate you are limited. It strikes at the core of the youth experience for a lot of people. Your clique. Who you hang out with. What are your common interests? Cars? Girls? Drinking? It's a unique way of how it is to be young. Are they first world problems? Sure they are. But that doesn't mean that they are any less relevant to the human experience. Personally, I love the show and I think it takes some bold steps, like Skam, to bring up important aspects that often don't get depicted as realistically in a TV show.

Real, entertaining, emotional and awkward!
david-be-good30 January 2021
Norwegian state tv production at the best. This series is real and acting is great and natural. Many funny and entertaining moments. The story follows a group of friends from the car environment in the country side with drama and relationships with intense emotional moments. Twists and surprises appear frequently and follows through the entire series. Filming and picture is beautiful and I can't find anything I didnt like. I enjoyed every minute of Rådebank!

Powerful stuff and SO good!
freddy_at_home26 July 2021
I saw season 1 and season 2 in two nights. Man, this is both fun and deep. I love how the cast fit together. Like, the one makes the other better. This show has heart, so much heart!

I had to cry at some point, it couldn't be stopped. And the experience behind it all, I know it so very well from my own experiences. And I also had to laugh many times, also from being the same kind of group as a youngster.

This should be seen by everyone. It has absolutely everything to offer. A solid 10/10.

Surprise!
rebeckaflygare21 March 2024
Never in a million years would I have believed that a drama series about greasers would touch my heart on such a level. I was never interested in their music or cars. But the depiction of heartbreak, friendship, parental abandonment and mental health made my tear channels flood. The series is totally addictive and I lost some sleep binge watching it.

It's been so many years since I've was in the same age as the main characters, but some things never get old and nostalgia always plays some heart strings.

The acting feels very true, not mannered, and for that I take a bow, cause that is always the hardest part, and has destroyed many movies about youth.

Go watch!

I am not sure what the message is supposed to be ?
baduurhamid30 January 2021
It is a lot of youngsters talking, driving and dealing with problems, but i am not sure what the message is supposed to be. Is it to explore sorrow and mourning over people that passes ? If so,i guess it is a meaningful message. But i didn't feel i got to know any of the main characters. It all becomes a great enigma, and there is something unsolved.

Why so much sadness and grief ??
evennesja6 December 2021
There is too much sadness and grief in this series.

Therefore, I do not think it is a good serie.

I think it could have been better if it had only focused on interpersonal relationships. Hopefully they will do this in season three and four. Therefore, I give a three in case it lifts up, but I doubt it: p.

Some flaws that Norwegian tv series struggles with.
fredrikharmladin2 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Unfortunately, this TV series contains some flaws that Norwegian TV series struggle with. The acting gives a feel that it is amateur theater. The dialogue is unnatural. And the main character dies in the second season. And this leads the plot into a bad lane. There is also bad sound editing. I have difficulties hearing what the actors says. I miss English subtitles for this tv series. All my foreign friends who wanted to see this series can not see it because it lacks English subtitles. I think this and other Norwegian series could have reached a bigger audience abroad if it had english subtitles, such as the shame series that many did not get to see because it lacked English subtitles. But I hope the third season can be better? Maybe if they introduce some more wellknown actors to the series? Perhaps some of the actors from"Shame" ?

I am sad :(
antonborlid2 March 2021
I do not understand why everything has to be so sad in this series. The music is sad,the plot is sad,and all the worse happens. The worst is that it is not done in a way that brings emotions, which is important when depicting lifes enigmas. I had more hopes when i began watching :p
