Unnecessarily dramatic episode
kimintuitive1 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Today people play the race card too much. It's a room full of multicultural designers. And those two designers play the race card as their means to try and win. I guess you can't blame but their points were... emotional but not seeing the bigger picture. That industry is competitive, catty and difficult. So much money goes through there. If they want in the game, they have to play it. They may think other designers steal their ideas without seeing that that is actually very common no matter what the race of the people involved. They also didn't see that frankly the criticisms of their clothes was accurate - it's all been ruffles and sloppy looking and too much. You can't just cry and pull the race card every time you hear a no because if any success comes from the sympathy you garner, it won't be sustainable because no one logically wants to just buy things out of sympathy forever, they have to like the clothes. And well... they weren't liking the clothes, that's honest.

Load of ****

Warning: Spoilers
Farai and Kiki were obviously the weakest duo in this challenge and they have been the weakest in several challenges before. They are being kept in because the expectation is high which is stupid because they are not delivering.

Also Kirby walking off and making a scene over Tan saying he wants to vote Farai and Kiki out is a load of ****, would he have acted this way if Farai and Kiki were two white women? I think not.. yes I said it. I am all for giving everyone equal opportunity but the clothes need to speak for themselves and what they made is just not modern.

Weak runway, lots of drama.

Warning: Spoilers
The looks were not very strong. The winners did not deserve a win this time around, even though I love them.

Kiki and her partner did not deserve to be in the bottom two; but then also, the 'our voices just aren't being heard in this industry' argument when the majority of contestants, stylists and designers in the show are exactly the people rocking those very voices, esp. from Brooklyn. Taking away labels, every voice is unique anyway, as was stated, and you do have to make yours heard and that was such an excuse, especially when the other team accepted feedback so gracefully.

Though it's a hard one to judge because they really didn't deserve to be down there. They literally could've just gone 'Our design is interesting and fits the brief.' It feels a bit like 'Haha, we're gonna put the OG streetwear designer in the bottom and show how cool WE are.' Mabye? Their looks weren't AMAZING, true, but the rest of that runway was DIRE. They were one of the better looks.

I don't really mind Kerby leaving. He can do what he thinks is right. Tan's overdramatics were a bit much. People leave every episode and you tell them it's only a beginning, so chill.

Honestly I just wanted a more innovative, exciting runway. I was really looking forward to streetwear.

Race card always wins

Warning: Spoilers
What a ridiculous outcome. Farai and Kiki's design was absolutely ug ly and they would have deserved to be eliminated. But of course it didn't happen. The only thing they needed was to play the powerful race card. I am sure that racism exists and they have experienced it But something they design being rejected isn't always racism. if it sucks, it sucks. But them just mentioning it scares the judges so much that a decision they strongly belied in and was valid is forgotten. People are really scared to disagree with someone black. What makes it even more ridiculous is that they aren't even the only minority team. Most are, it is a very diverse competition and the other team that was in the bottom wasn't white either. It was unfair to them. This episode also wasn't that great on designs. I really didn't like the design as well. While I expected the streetwear episode have some great designs it turned out being the worst so far.

Fake

Warning: Spoilers
I hate it when reality TV mocks the viewers. This "cliffhanger" has been the fakest reaction of the season. Shame.
