The Midnight Man is a remake of a 2013 film. The original was shot within Ireland. This latest version was shot in Canada. As well, the remake was released in Canada, in 2016? Though, this horror fan never heard a peep on this earlier release. IFC Films will show the film, via Video-on-demand, in early 2018. This latest release will take place across the United States. The Midnight Man stars Robert Englund and Lin Shaye. A trailer has just been released for the U.S. showing and it can be found here, along with a European poster (possibly Ukrainian). The film's story involves a game. But, children should not play this version. Once the game is started, the Midnight Man will appear and he promises to make the characters' worst nightmares come true. Now, a doctor hopes to end this fatalistic game, before everyone disappears into the void. The trailer shows some of the rituals,...

Sneak Peek footage from director A.D. Calvo's supernatural thriller "The Midnight Game", available on DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment, starring Renee Olstead:
"...teenager 'Kaitlan' (Olstead) has decided to invite over a few of her friends after she finds that her parents are leaving her home alone for the weekend.
"She's planning for a small, relatively quiet get together with her friends 'Jenna' (Valentina de Angelis) and 'Rose' (Shelby Young), but Kaitlan soon finds that Rose has invited 'Shane' (Guy Wilson) and 'Jeff' (Spencer Daniels).
"Not wanting to seem uncool, Kaitlan allows the boys to stay and party. Eventually Shane suggests that they play 'The Midnight Game', where participants confess their deepest fears while performing a pagan ritual. Anyone who performs the ritual inaccurately runs the risk of running into the 'Midnight Man', a terrifying figure that can bring the participants' fears to life..."

Heart-attacks, serial killers, gunshot wounds and Thalaron radiation. You name it, Alan Dale’s characters have been killed by it…
Warning: contains spoilers for Alan Dale's roles between 1985 and 2014. Listing them here would more or less defeat the object.
He didn’t die in The X-Files, nor in The West Wing. He got a little bit blown up in 24 and NCIS, and River Song sort of paralysed him in ER. Those were his good days.
Whenever the credits roll on a TV episode or film in which his character doesn’t end up kicking the bucket, it’s a good day for Alan Dale. If he can keep up his current trend of not dying on Once Upon A Time and Dominion then his ratio of role demises to survivals may just start to even out.
Before that happens, join us in a celebration of New Zealand’s answer...

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Holmes and Watson, Sherlock is the BBC's popular series currently prepping for a third and possibly final season. Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek 2, Starter For Ten) and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy) star in Sherlock, a thrilling, fast-paced update of Arthur Conan Doyle's classic detective, set in present-day London. In this unique adaptation, the iconic details from Conan Doyle's original books remain. They live at the same address, are only interested in the bizarre and, somewhere out there, Moriarty is waiting for them. Sherlock also stars Rupert Graves (God On Trial, Midnight Man) as Detective Inspector Lestrade, Scotland Yard's finest, largely because Sherlock allows him to take credit for his...

Yesterday it was the royal hunks, today's "The Hobbit" dwarf pictorial (via Stuff.co.nz) features three more dwarves who represent a quite different background - the rougher and life loving working class trio of Bombur (Stephen Hunter), Bofur (James Nesbitt) and Bifur (William Kircher). Here's the description of their characters:
"Born and bred in the West, descendants of coal miners and iron workers, they have joined the Quest for the Lonely Mountain partly to seek their fortune and partly because they were told the beer was free."
Hunter is a familiar face on Australian and New Zealand television with a role in several episodes of the acclaimed "Love My Way" along with guest starring roles on "All Saints," "Spirited," "Mercy Peak" and "Street Legal".
Irish actor Nesbitt is an outright legend of British television with memorable leading role turns in "Jekyll," "Cold Feet," "Ballykissangel," "Playing the Field," "Murphy's Law,...
