- Everything seems to be going downhill for starving businessman Wade Bradshaw (Tanner Stymeist). His marketing agency is about to go under, and his sales team seems to be working against him. But, a promising client has landed at Wade's feet, which he will do everything in his power to acquire. Meanwhile, Wade must deal with his rocky marriage and an ex-girlfriend.—Phinehas Yoon
- The film opens with Wade Bradshaw (Tanner Stymeist) sketching a girl in his parked car. A large title appears on screen that reads "Wednesday." On the car dashboard sits a small hula man with an obnoxious smile. It begins to jiggle after a large truck passes. Wade stops sketching and perceives the hula man's shake as laughter at him and his sketch. Annoyed, Wade throws the sketchbook to the side and takes off his wedding ring. Taking another look at the hula man, he crumples up his sketch and throws it out the window, exiting the car.
Inside a stuffy office, Dan (Jay Parker) talks on the phone with a potential client for Wade's marketing business. The client is unimpressed with their small agency. At another desk sits Wade's two other employees, Emma (Jazmin Navarro) and Tom (Phinehas Yoon). Tom is flirting with Emma, who is annoyed by his efforts. Wade enters, interrupting the conversation. Emma hands Wade a red file with a list of all their main clients as Tom moves back to his desk. It's awkward between Emma and Wade.
Dan and Tom get into an argument from their desks as Wade settles into his. Wade ignores them as he grabs papers from his satchel and slides them into the red file. Wade squeezes a stress ball and walks to the back of the room, examining all the contents of the file.
Wade interrupts the office banter by telling everyone he has a meeting with a big client named Greenstreet. The room doesn't believe him at first. Dan and Tom agree that they aren't big enough to work for a large client like Greenstreet. Wade shows Dan the red file. Dan realizes that Wade has fabricated their client list, making their company look big enough to handle large consumers. Wade ignores Dan's whispers and reassures everyone that they are doing fine; and if they contact more vendors and get more salesmen, they can handle a client like Greenstreet. Tom doesn't believe it. Trying to impress Emma, Wade makes fun of Tom. Wade then receives a text message which distracts him from the topic at hand. Emma exits the office and Wade follows her.
Emma lights a cigarette outside and begins to smoke. Wade approaches her from behind. Emma sharply turns her head and shuts him down with a look, blowing a cloud of smoke in his face.
We are in a fast food restaurant. Bonnie (Ruby Hetherington) is caught in a daydream. Her eyes meander to a five dollar tip on the table in front of her. As she begins to clear the dirty table, a man runs into her, causing her to drop the trash she was collecting. Then, she checks her watch and sees that her shift is over.
Wade sits in a nice office. Across from him sits Greenstreet (Norman Knight). Greenstreet glazes over the red file with intensity, making Wade nervous. Convinced, Greenstreet hands Wade a file with his business marketing needs and tells him he wants to check out his office space next Monday.
Wade enters his car. Dumbfounded, he begins to yell and cheer, causing the hula man on his dashboard to jiggle. Perceiving the shake as laughter again, Wade throws the files on his dash and drives off in a huff.
Bonnie stands on a vantage point, looking upon a gorgeous view of Downtown LA. She paints an abstract interpretation of the view on a canvas in front of her.
At night, Wade enters his apartment. He pulls out his phone again, contemplating what's on the small screen. He goes to the kitchen and grabs his medication. Bonnie enters the scene, causing Wade to pocket his phone. They are married. Bonnie tells Wade that she's finished her last painting for an art show. Wade ignores what Bonnie just said and tells her about Greenstreet. She notices Wade isn't wearing his wedding ring. She says nothing about it and hands Wade the five dollar tip from earlier. She's reminds him again about her art show tomorrow. Then, Wade tells her that his business is actually about to go bankrupt. He tries to reassure her and tells her that he can get Greenstreet as a client to save the company. Unfortunately, Bonnie is losing faith in him. She exits the scene, leaving Wade alone in the kitchen. He pulls out his phone one last time, types out a short text, and sends it out.
We then fade to black. We hear a text notification chime. A large title appears on screen that reads "Thursday."
Wade sits in an old fashioned diner. Across from him sits Natasha (Tess Speranza), his ex girlfriend. Wade pokes at an unappetizing plate of Eggs Benedict with his fork. Natasha asks him why he didn't order a Denver with Rye. He tells her he felt like eating an eggs Benedict, obviously lying. Natasha tries to lighten the mood but Wade isn't having it. They begin to argue about who's idea it was to meet up and why Natasha texted him. Then, Wade slams his fist on the table to make Natasha listen. He accuses her of taking advantage of him and almost driving his business into the ground. Natasha just laughs. She ignores everything that came out of Wade's mouth and realizes that he didn't know what an eggs Benedict was. She proceeds to order him a Denver with rye from a waiter passing by. Wade apologizes and asks if she'd like to meet up tomorrow at the same time and place. Natasha accepts but notices a red mark on his finger where a wedding ring should be.
Bonnie stands in front of her paintings on display. Two wealthy men walk by her and her art. They look in her direction and softly chuckle, continuing to walk past her. Defeated, Bonnie checks her watch and sees it's time to wrap up. Slowly, she walks over to her paintings and begins to take them off the wall.
Wade returns to his office and sits at his desk by himself. He smiles, reminiscing about the date he just had with Natasha. Then, he realizes something is missing from his desk. He takes a quick look around but gives up and slouches back in his chair. After checking his watch, he sets up a cot in the corner of the office and falls asleep.
Morning hits. Wade jolts awake in his cot. A large title appears on screen that reads "Friday," only this time, it's colored in red. After taking a moment to gather his bearings, Wade looks up. At the foot of his cot stands Greenstreet with a disapproving look on his face. Dan and Emma sit at their desks while Tom walks Greenstreet out, explaining to him that they only had four people working their small business the entire time. Wade runs after Greenstreet, but he drives off in a convertible, leaving him in the dust. Wade confronts Tom who is sitting at his desk, munching on an apple. Wade asks why Greenstreet was at the office. Tom responds by showing Wade the red file he stole from his desk. He goes on to tell Wade that he told Greenstreet all the lies he strung and that he didn't like the disrespect he was receiving in the office. So, he wanted to destroy Wade's business and humiliate him before he left to his new job in Santa Monica. Enraged, Wade hits the apple out of Tom's hand and they begin to fight, grappling each other in weird positions. Wade grabs a stapler off of his desk and staples Tom's forehead which sends him to the ground squealing in pain. Wade exits the office. Dan watches Tom wriggle on the floor in disgust.
Now outside of the office, Wade watches Emma drive off in her car. He checks his watch and sees that it's almost one o'clock.
Wade goes back to the old fashioned diner to meet with Natasha again. She doesn't show up.
Bonnie confronts Wade as he enters their apartment. She asks about the girls he's been sketching. Wade tells her that success is a fluke and that she is a failure like him. He tells her to leave just like everyone else did in his life. Then, Bonnie goes right up to Wade and tell him that even though it's hard, she loves what she does, and she'd rather work at something she's passionate about rather than working just to please her ego. She storms out of the apartment, leaving Wade alone as we fade to black.
Wade sits in his car. He grabs his sketchbook and looks up at the Hula Man on his dash. He then grabs the Hula Man, throws it out the window, and exits the car.
