This short film is apparently a short story about a Canadian woman who is trapped in the Soviet sector of Germany at the end of WWII. Much of the film is about her desperation to get food for her family but there also is a scene late in the film where one of her neighbors is raped by a Russian soldier--something that was all too common during this period. Understandably, the Russians had little regard for the Germans and committed some horrible acts on the innocent civilians.
Artistically speaking, this is a very well made film--with excellent direction, acting and music. The entire package is professional and interesting. However, the film was way too short. Why this Canadian was there, what happened next and many other aspects of her story are left unanswered and the film is frustrating because you are dying to know what's next. Hopefully, this short can one day be expanded and at least some of these questions can be addressed.
