This show knows how to tackle serious issues very well

I'm surprised how mature this show is for a teen show. It's different and doesn't all into cliches that most teen shows on the cw fall into. All American knows how to tell stories with real life issues pretty true to life and well. Tonight's sensitive issue proved that. I'm proud of this show, the writers the actors ect. They've got some of the best cast on AA and it once again proves that the show is so much more than just a teen/football one.

Systemic racism is real

A lot of folks giving this episode a bad review because it tackles a real issue. I can't believe these people are surprised. This show has been dealing with it for awhile. I find it hard to believe that this is the episode that upset them so much.

Ignore the 1 star reviews

The bad reviews are sadly from ignorant people that this episode attempted to educate. This is not the first time All American has address police brutality, so don't understand why people are mad there. Also, police brutality and institutional racism is very real and shows like All American are not afraid to point that out.

Is this a CNN coverage of recent social justice protest or a TV series?
leoseimetz1 May 2021
I really enjoyed this show for the storyline of the first seasons: school, football, brotherhood, family and all that stuff.

However, like many other shows nowadays it took a really bad turn. Who knows the reason for that? Maybe writers are out of new ideas and just want to exploit the new social justice events.

It's kinda lame when episodes of a football oriented TV series take like 70%+ of the time on this social justice thing. I'm not saying it's unimportant, I'm just saying it's not the place for that much! Of course you can mention it or even have a side storyline or something like that, but it's like the whole thing nowadays... Also, they show an extremely biased point of view. Someone without clear politics knowledge will watch this and think *ALL* the police is bad or racist, which is obviously not true.

More to the point, the mental health/addiction thing scenes are taking too much time. Again: I know this is important stuff, but at a personal level, right? I mean no one want to watch my 1 hour session with my shrink, right?

The same applies for the recent episodes that shows characters with personal problems talking to their families/shrinks for a long time.

I'd like to watch some storyline with football, family, life decisions and this kind of stuff. Sadly, lately looks like I've been watching some CNN coverage of recent social justice event or some endless drama of an addict.

I've applauded this show..

For the fact that more than other TV shows I watch, this story had a true spring board and foundation to ORGANICALLY work the current social climate into their storylines. I knew it would come eventually but the fact that these writers and producers didn't force it on their viewers full press from the words 2020 and go... took me by an unexpected but grateful surprise. So this is one show that I am willing to stick around for despite the SJW plot devices (for a limited time anyway.) I'm willing to see if they go full force with it now or continue to let it be a not so quiet undertone. But I have loved this show from the beginning so until they make it clear that they're pushing a certain agenda, I'm going to give this show the benefit of the doubt.

Stick to what your good at

One sided narrow view of a current issue. One sided politics just drive us farther aparr disappointed to see this show help to perpetrate that.

CW keeps digging its own grave...

I didn't watch the episode attentively, because I was so bored and unimpressed with how obvious the script was... Just like the show is since last season. And the fact that my previous comment was deleted without warnings...
