The episode where Clark is pulled in all different directions
ldamena17 March 2021
Can he be a dad, a husband and a hero all at the same time? Can Superman make it work? I think this episode tried to answer that difficult question. And while the answer may not be one that was a perfect one, it was realistic. It shows how hard having a family is for a Superhero who always has to be out there saving the world to protect what he loves the most. To Clark his boys are the most important thing, next to Lois. And, seeing him torn between his family and the world was hard to watch. I think this episode also set up Jon's next arc. I had a feeling that Jordan might be the one to go rouge but I'm not so sure anymore. I still think Jonathan has powers but we prob won't know for sure til the end of the season. Lois was amazing like always I loved her sticking it to her selfish dad while making him see reason. Plus that last Lois and Clark scene was pure gold Clois are couple goals. Still loving this show so much, def my favorite DC show on right now.

Great episode.
Ashitaka13717 March 2021
This show is really confirming how much it's on a whole other level than other CW DC shows; i'll wait to see where it goes, but this amount of good directing, writing, acting, storytelling, soundtrack, etc... is making it the best CW DC show to ever come out so far. The 40 minutes of an episode pass by real quick; this show deserves much more publicity for the quality of entertainment it's delivering so far.

Honestly really good
calebamorgan17 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This series continues to be consistent. My biggest compliment for it is that they manage to give all the characters decent screen time and development while still allowing for it to feel like a series about Superman and Lois.

I really like the introduction of a friendship between Lois and Lana and I hope it continues a good direction. I feel like all of the villains and world building they've introduced is really good. The mention of meta humans and a school for young meta humans is interesting and builds the world for future storylines.

My only complaint (which isn't really a serious complaint) is I want Jonathan to get his powers already!!!

Favorite character is hands down Jonathan!! Which I love Clark and Lois also but Jonathan, is so awesome and mature. I love that he understands his brother's anxiety and acknowledges Jordan's feelings even if it relies on him ignoring his own, and he is always acknowledging the fact he may get jealous or angry and talks about it rather than lash out. I'm not sure if this will lead to a downward spiral for Jonathan when he's had enough or if he'll continue being that full time supporter for Jordan and his feelings.

He's only Superman
GomezAddams66617 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In this fourth episode is where we truly see the true vulnerability of this Man of Steel, and it is not Kryptonite, it's meeting all the expectations when you are a Superhero, a husband and a father.

General Sam Lane reminds Clark that lives depend on of him every day, and that is a burden he bestowed upon himself when he put on hat cape, but his wife is being cornered by megalomaniac Morgan Edge in an effort to silence her, and his sons are dealing with many issues that go beyond normal adolescent problems when a fellow student starts developing Metahuman abilities, for which Jordan fells responsible because he fears that his outburst with heat vision is somewhat related to his schoolmate suffering.

From the very beginning I have praised this series for humanizing Clark Kent, yes, he is Superman but his greatest struggles are not super powered beings bent on his destruction, instead they are the same problems of balance many families face, and that makes him relatable, that makes him human.

This episode deserves a perfect score.

Fantastic storytelling, Haywire is a great episode
Holt34417 March 2021
Haywire is the forth episode of Superman and lois' first season, it's the first to be directed by James Bamford and he has been with the Arrowverse since Arrow where he started as a stunt coordinator and became a director and producer of that show, he has directed multiple of Arrowverse and it's nice to see him on this TV series. He knows how to direct action sequences and this episode has that plus many great character interactions and development.

The story continues where the previous episode left off, Lois investigating Morgan Edge and Clark Kent being a father to his sons after being absent but they finally understand the reason. Superman and Lois gets better and better, the focus of world building and character development is a big reason for that. An old foe makes a return in this episode, Thaddeus Killgrave which in the comics are a minor Superman villain. Nothing mind blowing, he isn't a villain of the week, but a tool for character development. It's a villain that Superman have already beaten. This episode felt nostalgic to the Smallville show which I love.

Well shot and brilliant storytelling, there weren't really anything bad with the episode. For a Superman show, this is probably a nine. Morgan Edge is turning out to be a fantastic villain for the show, honestly not the one I expected for a season long villain but I see and understand why they went down this road. It's a great story arc that fits ik what place the Kent family is right now.

Project-7734
wetmars20 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wow, another solid episode. I have one problem and, that is a lack of action. I am alright with that. I guess we are starting with people possibly becoming meta-humans due to Jordan's heat-ray accident. I do like Killgrave. He's super intelligent and aware of Superman's abilities, so he uses some sort-of sonic wave gun that does something to his ears.

"Einstein saw time as an illusion, one that gets us to wear a watch. Do you happen to have the time? Nice piece. And analog. Good for you. A lot of people go digital. They need to be spoon-fed. Sad. Society is spoiled rotten. I think they need a wake-up call. See, the thing is, that's not chewing gum. It's a temperature-sensitive synthetic polymer resin I made in the sink of my prison cell. Highly mercurial at an atomic level. Combined with the precise vibration of a... ticking wristwatch, well... three, two, one..."

Of course, the Morgan Edge plotline is getting once more interesting. They have found X-Kryptonite in the mines. (( A type of Kryptonite that temporality disables Superman's abilities, I think. )) I am wondering what Project-7734 will be, betray Superman? Who knows. Jordan's character development is progressing as always, once a kid who had social anxiety disorder to a guy who no longer has it? He cares for his football team, has good chemistry with the Football Coach, helping out his peeps.

It scares me that the villains are wondering why Superman isn't in Metropolis anymore, putting things together on why. I'm excited to see what will be next.

9/10.

Refreshingly mature and heartwarming
rossdanbruen19 March 2021
There are so many disappointing to awful things that I've come to expect from CW superhero shows, and television in general, but this program is so far pleasantly subverting so many of my expectations.

I like all the characters so far. It really feels like the production team cares about making a series that is emotionally resonant through characters with relatable feelings who talk like human beings you could actually enjoy being around. If you're looking for geeky sci-fi jargon like Flash or Legends of Tomorrow, constant and clumsy politics like Supergirl and Batwoman, or a dependency on action and sarcasm throughout the show like the most of the CW superhero fare, you won't find it here. It might be a bit low-energy for some audiences, but it's a refreshingly mature and heartwarming series.

Lois's boss Chrissy is actually a responsible business owner who doesn't just give Lois carte blanche. Lois is a smart, focused reporter with a strong perspective, and is an empathetic wife and mother. I can often see where the boys are coming from and their angst isn't too out of control, and they're ultimately good boys. Lana keeps surprising me with new layers. Clark is doing his best. He's not infallible, but the mistakes he makes as Clark are understandable. The father-in-law is a breath of fresh air. He's a 55+ military general, but with values and a heart as a grandfather and human being. On any other CW show, a character like this would instead be a one-note villain, or a particularly *bigoted* one-note villain.

The superhero stuff is decently done, although it wouldn't have me tune in on its own. I don't see this as a superman show + real life problems, I see it as a family drama in a small town in a world where superpowers exist + real life problems + Superman himself.

This is currently my #1 scripted show.

Haywire
Prismark106 January 2022
Haywire is a solid episode not just a super one.

It seems Smallville is infested with people with superpowers.

Morgan Edge has got several people with powers as he searches for something underneath Smallville.

At high school, Jordan finds that another student called Tag is exhibiting special powers.

General Lane even mentions a school for people with special abilities.

Superman finds mixing parenting and fighting crime takes a lot out of you.

He has been targeted by a villain called Killgrave who has developed a sonic weapon.

There is a lot going on in this episode. It does build Morgan Edge as the big bad. It also makes General Lane look as a man who cannot be entirely trusted.

I HATE WB SHOWS
herrbrett17 March 2021
I hate all WB shows. I give them a shot and then realize I'm not 14, and it wasn't meant for me. I wanted to hate this show. But it's amazing. It's actually entertaining, the characters have more depth than usual.

Yet Another Perfect Episode Of Superman & Lois
THEARROWFLASH20 March 2021
God this show is so ridiculously great. It understands Superman so fracking much and the love given to Superman AND his family in such a perfect way and mixing that in with GREAT mature storytelling is so damn amazing. I always expect next week's episode of Superman & Lois to be AMAZING but then they just blow it out of the park even more and make it PERFECT, and yes, I do mean that word to it's fullest extent. And this episode's villian Kilgrave is acted so well that you feel like you're watching a genuinely radicalized mad genius and the fight between him & Superman was so greatly done that it, like all the other fight scenes in this perfect show, felt like a big-budget movie. But the thing that really makes this all worth watching is the heart that this show wears on it's sleeve. Just like The Flash, this show just has the feeling of the passion being put into it just BLOWING out of the screen into your hearts. It's beautiful. It's spectacular. And it's not a bird or a plane. It's Superman & Lois.

So let me get this straight...
overhaul2-126 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
...You all honestly have no problem that in the whole solar system and couple of stars more, Earth happens to have, no, not earth, USA... no, no not just USA - freakin' Smallwille have huuge deposits of "cryptoniteX" from all of the places? And from all of the places in a exploited mine that nobody noticed by now? And turns out every other person suddenly is a metahuman? How on earth Batman had such a problem to find a couple of metahumans for justice league, when he had Smallwille on disposal? And of all of the possible times, people got to develop superpowers just in time he happened to arrive back home? And a top of that he happens to have his own father in law plotting against him? Against father of his grandchildren? And what are his motives? Superman haven't been prison guard 24/7? Even not in a payroll. Not even helping his own daughter struggling with job, money, blown up car and homicide attempt that nobody care about? And what's that with the boys? Kid got government grant for a talented football skills, yet he's somehow not good enough for a village team? If that's not batwoman level screenwritting, I don't know what it is.

'Guilt' is more powerful than Kryptonite
Roydsy_Reviews19 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode...

Jordan isn't an ass hat this week because he's getting attention. Hooray!

Morgan Edge (Rich White man bad stereotype) makes poor Lana feel uncomfortable with the old 'You're so smart, you could have done anything you wanted, but you chose to stay in Smallville' Trope. Lana is so entitled that the compliment is too much for her to bear, and she blames her husband for it. Cause it was his fault somehow? Ridiculous. What a brat. Why is everyone an entitled brat in this show? God. Almost forgot it's cause it's on the CW.

We get more of Lois's 'nosey reporter who is always right' Vs Rich White man bad stereotype. Extremely tiresome.

Then the old, 'lets move a really big bad prisoner who will likely get sprung' Trope... Not overused at all. Ofcourse, he escapes because Superman is busy being a dad... Good god! Jesus, why don't you just leave James Bond in a totally escapable trap while your at it!

Lois goes to the town meeting where Clark is supposed to turn up to say something against Edge and be the second 'Nay' vs the rest of the town. This leaves Lois with only one trick left up her sleeve. Making Clark feel bad because she (a strong whamen that don't need no man) can't get it done by herself. Clark where are you? She sobs. 'You are my literal last chance at having a story arc in this show'. Sorry sweet cheeks. He's out being SUPERMAN FFS!!!!

Then later on, when he tries to apologise, she acknowleges she knows he's out saving lives, but it was 'Sooooo important' to her she decides instead to be a brat. This version of Lois does not deserve Superman. She goes on a guilt spiral attempting to take superman down with her.

'Guilt' on the CW is more powerful than Kryptonite. Maybe Morgan Edge should be mining some of that. In that case he could just kidnap and mine a ton outta the Kent/Lane family.

General Lane is the next to put Superman in a 'super' guilt trip for not being there to stop generic creepy guy from getting away from his inept guards. Great General. The power of the US Army isn't enough to move one prisoner? Absolute rubbish! At least Superman stands up for himself against the General. You're only allowed to stand up for yourself against men in power on the CW.

Then theres the old 'girls night out' where Lois and Lana drink to forget how horrible and bratty they have been to their husbands. Being the CW, I can't belive they didn't take the chance to get a toxic white male to sleazily hit on one of them, then have one of the ladies beat a 6ft 200 pound guy with one mighty punch of feminisim +5.

So the guy with the meta shakes is obviously a result of some Morgan Edge experiment I guess. Jordan sloppily trys to help, but because he sucks and is only Superboy lite, he fails miserably.

General (I need superman to do my shoelaces) Lane gives the boys a big wake up call to stop hassling Superman. Awesome. Best move this show has made so far. Then they completely undo it turning that guilt trip back on Lane. LAME!!!!!! From now on, I'll call him General Lame. Then Lois gets involved. Honour is 'Toxic'? Wow CW. You guys suck so much it's unbearable!

Maybe I've just watched too many shows? But the writers have to be just spinning the trope roulette wheel to write these plot points. This show is officially terrible, and people are giving it 9's and 10's??? I feel like i'm taking crazy pills here!

Best episode so far but.....
gareth-7544220 March 2021
Just not enough "Superman" in Superman & Lois, the show should be called Clark & family, why oh why did they just not stick to the comic more closely, just one child "Jon" & show his development into "superboy", Jordan Elsass is 20 & Alex Garfin is 17, neither of them can pass as 14,there are a ton of 12 to 15 year old actors that could've played those roles more convincingly. It just dosent make sense why this fails compared to the comic book until you look a little closer & see who else is involved in this show, Geoff Johns, & suddenly everything makes sense, this will go the same route as all CW shows, Johns is the master of "copy & paste" the maestro of un-originality & the purveyor of "meh"

2 minutes of Superman
freshie888818 March 2021
This show should be called the kids and wife of superman. There's really not much going on with Superman other than proving over and over again why Superman shouldn't have children. They've made the man of steel a buffoon who has little to do with the Superman we have known or would expect to see. He's weak, & stupid when we do get a scene or two of him. Most of this garbage is about Lois, and their kids. I knew the CW would fail. This is already a train wreck.
