Part of me wanted Eric Dean Seaton to return in the director chair for the follow up episode titled "O Mother, Where Art Thou?" but Harry Jierjian does a phenomenal job and it's nice to see a long time editor for DC's live action shows gets the chance to direct, and I have to say it was very good direction from him. Cinematography is like the previous episodes, very good.
This week's episode begins where the last episode ended with Superman going up against Morgan Edge who we learned also had kryptonian powers, another twist was Lana's husband Kyle was also among the Subjekts. The plot advances in a great pace and I loved how they edited this episode, probably one of the best edited episodes. The focus was on Superman and Lois, which was appreciated. Why I find this twist and story working so well is how different the two worlds we have seen truly is, you could clearly understand why Superman of John Henry Irons world choose Morgan Edge's side, and I love how it isn't black or white. His reasons are fully revealed and I can say he's a good villain but too similar to Zod. I can't wait to see what else the writers and showrunners have in store for us.
The episode is full of great acting, the adults got the most screen time and with that actors like Tyler Hoechlin, Adam Rayner and Elizabeth Tulloch got time to really shine and give us phenomenal performances. They nailed the drama and every single line of dialogue.
On the technical side of things, I only have one bad thing to say and it's the green screen environment, you could clearly see the green color of the green screen on Morgan Edge in one or the confrontations between him and Superman. But other than that, the effects were good and the music was fantastic.
