Great Team, Great footage, Terribly put together
mrabinowitz-501615 June 2021
Theres literally no story or cohesiveness to this documentary. Its like they took some amazing footage, and paid a 10 year old to use iMovie to slap the clips together. If you're a cyclist, you'll still enjoy the footage, however it's a shame because this could have been a lot better.

Frustrating to watch
wix997 June 2020
If you are cycling fan who closely follows the Grand Tours then you will get a lot out of watching this. It goes behind the scenes of one of cycling's most powerful and successful teams. The team contains a number of stars and although they achieve a number of great results the team is often at war with itself. The team members themselves admit to "communication issues," "tensions" and even a "civil war" within the team.

The real problem with this series was its lack of a clear narrative structure. Many significant events take place without sufficient context being given. If you don't know much about cycling then you will probably find it confusing and miss many of the key points.

Overall this is a great series for serious cycling fans. For others seeking an introduction to the world of cycling I suggest "All For One" might be a more interesting documentary to watch.

Go deep in a cycling team

With this documentary you learn so much about cycling and you understand why something's happen that way. You also learn that, despite of the strategy, you are dealing with human beings. It's beautiful!!!

Good for Enthusiast

Covers Giro and Tour but little else. Still good insight but would have loved to seen something for the casual sports fan like F1 Drive to Survive. All down to budgets I suppose. Hopefully bigger in future

Raspberry for the incoherent editing
tomwalton-6235027 September 2022
Some fascinating footage (are the pre-stage team talks really so gormless?!) but it's just been chucked together anyhow.

What possible motive could there have been for randomly jumping from stages in the Vuelta, to a stage in the Giro, to a couple in the Tour, with no discernible narrative to link them, indeed no attempt to link them at all.

It's as if they ended up with lots of digital footage on different hard drives, started to put it together but then ran out of time or money, or fired the editor and released it however. Why split the Miguel Angel Lopez story over several episodes, for example, and shouldn't it be towards the end of the series, given that it happened at the end of the season?

Even for an avid cycling fan, it's fairly incomprehensible.

Poor direction and structure.

This could have been the cycling version of "Formula 1: Drive to Survive." But it falls for short. There's plenty of great footage, but no coherence or narrative. The producers need to replace their director and editor, and use narrating characters - such as sports journalists - to thread it together.

I'm a huge cycling fan, and even I get lost. Why was this tactic on Stage X controversial? What's at stake when Rider Y chose to do a certain thing? Riders are behind, then gain seconds, then lose, then suddenly they win the Team Classification?

What the heck is going on? Please, producers, please replace your team and get someone on who can tell a story p.

Unwatchable due to Bad Editing
cinns3 August 2023
Worst doc I have seen. Unwatchable. **Great** shots that last 2-5 s. Heartbreaking.

Tried watching by pausing every 3-5 s. Terrible. Hope they can have another go at the raw footage and re-release.

They have a good story, and subject, and cast.

I get the feeling the "DIrekToR" forced the editor to include, or rather not leave out, so many "good shots".

What you end up with is every shot is shorter than the human brain can process.

Don't watch anything this useless DIreCT(AT)OR has ever touched.
