Interesting Findings/Dull Case
Hitchcoc21 February 2021
After the interesting details of the killings were revealed, I sort of lost interest. The guy name "Drops" was a real stretch to empathize with. I sort of dozed off as they pursued the person most responsible. Getting a felon out of prison to help out is pure television. Not much else to say.

A Complicated Case
claudio_carvalho26 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When a blonde woman is found murdered with two shotguns after multiple shots, Grissom, Nick and Greg investigate the crime scene. Grissom notes a drop of blood from the apartment above and he asks Officer Mitchell to visit the place. Soon they find the elderly woman Maria Espinoza dead on the floor with a shotgun in her face. The angle that Espinoza was shot is not consistent with their theories and the seven retrieved 9mm shell casings, one of them with urine on it, shows that Maria was shot with a revolver by a different person. Soon they learn that both apartments belong to the nightclub promoter Kellen "Drops" Tyford, who is in prison. Brass and Nick visit Drops, who recognizes the blonde Jessica "JJ" Jaynes, and tells them that Maria took care of him when he was a boy, and he lent his apartment to her when she needed. When the urine is identified from Drops' girlfriend Dana, who is the daughter of Maria, Brass and Nick return to the prison, and Drops asks them to let him 48 hours out of prison so that he can find Dana. What will be Brass decision?

"Drops' Out" is an episode of "CSI" with a very complicated case. The angle of the shotgun of Maria Espinoza's face intrigues the investigators from the beginning. It is impressive the low quality of the American's constructions with wood, where a bullet can cross from one level to another through the ceiling/floor. The reference to "48 Hrs." with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy certainly will make viewers think of seeing this film again. The plot is well developed and resolved in the end. My vote is eight.

I like Drops
xbatgirl-300299 January 2024
I find it hard to imagine people aren't charmed by Drops in this episode and really feel for him by the end. I do wonder if those who look refuse to sympathize with him and his associates in this episode also idolize movies like Dirty Harry or anything by Scorsese and Tarantino. I wonder what the difference is?

Anyway, the set up is a little far fetched, but I enjoyed how each new clue led the team from one point to another. They started with nothing and figured out the whole story, which is what CSI did so well, each character doing their part.

I can see why the producers liked working with Method Man so much in his episode that they brought him back and gave him his own story. He can play menacing, quick thinking, and sneaky all while emitting warmth, depth, and humor. And yay for the unexpected Octavia Spencer cameo!

Nick Has A Bad Feeling
ccthemovieman-124 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
It was tough to get really involved with this crime story since there were no "good guys." Everyone connected with these murders - and there were several of them - was connected, and was a low-life-type person. Who do you care about? Nobody, in this episode. You just watch to see what happens next and how CSI and LV Det. Brass figure it out.

They wind up getting help - sort of - from a guy seen in a few past episodes, a thug behind bars by the name of "Drops" (Method Man). Reluctantly, Brass and Nick Stokes have to let Drops out of jail for the weekend to help track down the prime suspects.

"I have a feeling we are going to regret this," says Nick.

It turns out to be a "yes" and a "no" on that score. I'll leave it at that.
