Better

I like Family Guy, but I've always LOVED American Dad!

But in the past couple of weeks, for the first time ever, the impossible happened: I really thought Family Guy was doing WAY better then American Dad! This worked both ways: American Dad was performing way below their level (all IMHO of course) while Family Guy was on an exceptional reviving roll!

So far this season I think American Dad made only two decent episodes. The first one '100 Years a Solid Fool', and this one 'Brave Noob World'. All the other episodes in between only varied from barely watcheable to totally unacceptable.

'Brave Noob World' at least really felt a bit like American Dad to me again. Yes, the story was crazy, as many American Dad episodes are, but it was fun and there was a good amount of reasonably funny jokes. I enjoyed it and hope it gets better more frequently now.

Warning: Spoilers
Amusing, but from a storyline perspective a really weak showing.

The ending with the aliens was kind of cool though.

Best Episode So Far
knlorenzen19 May 2020
This season has been a rollercoaster, but I can simply say this is the best episode so far. The jokes land fairly well, and even if the things they make fun of are outdated, it's meant in a way to poke at past trends. Stan and Steve's relationship in this episode could've used much more screen time. Personally I would've scrapped the pointless B-plot with the rest of the family. The ending with Stan and Steve was heartwarming, and I think they should look into doing more episodes like this.

I'm honestly speechless, not in a good way though. This episode had a very unusual plot and it wasn't that funny. For the last 5 minutes the episode took a very unexpected turn, it was hard to tell if it was just purely bad writing or they wanted to try something new. The B-plot was very short which was unfortunate as it had potential. Overall, not worth watching.

Disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
I hoped that the episode would be at least entertaining to a certain degree like all the previous ones were, but it was really more like an Overwatch commercial interrupted by the secondary plot line.

Just awful.

American Dad's sharp dialogue and wit is gone. A convoluted, poorly executed episode that was all over the place and very badly written. Hopefully, this season gets back on track soon...

Overwatch

Overwatch is such a dumb game. I don't know if this was some kind of promotional thing or what, but the episode just drags on. Although to be honest, I'm not sure it would have been much better with an actually good game.

Warning: Spoilers
This is actually the worst episode of a TV show I have ever seen. The plot of Stan having to play an Overwatch tournament specifically just felt very out of place and cringe worthy. The plot of nuclear annihilation turning into a space ice cream thing just for the last 5 minutes was total nonsense. The B plot was just the other family members having their head stuck in a banister. That's it. No jokes and nothing deeper than that. This episode felt like it was written by writers who wrote an episode for themselves, not for a general audience. Not a single scene in this was enjoyable. I have felt smiliar with every episode of this season, but this one is by far the worst.
