(10:19) The controller notices on his screen that Eastern 401 fell from 2000 to 900 feet, as stated by the narrator. However, the display on the screen changes from 200 to 009 - from 2000 to 90 feet, not 900.
Several shots of the cabin show the 2-3-2 twin-aisle seat configuration. The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar actually had a 2-5-2 seat configuration.
The narrator says the plane crashed in a swamp. The area the plane crashed in is in the Everglades which is NOT a swamp contrary to popular misconceptions. The Everglades is actually a wide shallow river of very slow moving water flowing from Lake Okeechobee in the north to Florida Bay at the southern tip of Florida.
Reports of ghost sightings after salvaged parts were used on other aircraft are false. There were no salvaged parts from the crash of flight 401, and no reported ghost sightings.
