1932 is adding another popular star to its excellent cast.
Sebastian Roché has signed up to appear in the Yellowstone prequel, according to Deadline.
The series serves as a follow-up to 1883, which drew acclaim and strong viewership when it launched on Paramount+.
The next Yellowstone origin story will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family and explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.
Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford were revealed to be headlining the project back in May.
The series was initially revealed as 1932 when it was ordered to series, but it was later switched up to 1923.
"Taylor Sheridan has put roots down for the Dutton Family tree that stand strong and tall, with many branches that continue to engage record-breaking audiences,” executive producer David C. Glasser said...

Just about everybody in the streaming world is laser-focused on competing with Netflix and Disney+. AT&T recently announced that it would be spinning off WarnerMedia and merging with Discovery, Inc. with that exact goal in mind. How does Disney react to such corporate posturing? By releasing one of its biggest series yet, of course!

Ready for your surreal thought of the day? The Walking Dead recently planned to take Daryl and Carol off the series! Oh, don’t worry, we’re not going to let that one sink in too long, since said plan was connected to the now-revealed spinoff series, on which Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride will reprise their respective main series roles. However, it does reveal something rather interesting about how plans for AMC‘s developing spinoff series were altered.
The Walking Dead main series showrunner Angela Kang and chief content officer Scott M. Gimple originally planned for the main series exits of Reedus’s Daryl Dixon and McBride’s Carol Peletier for the spinoff series. However, Norman Reedus recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly radio show EW Live that the new series—in which the duo leave the confines of Alexandria, Va to hit the road and explore other regions of...

Earlier this week it was announced that that Game of Thrones series creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, dropped out of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars project saying, "There are only so many hours in the day, and we felt we could not do justice to both Star Wars and our Netflix projects. So we are regretfully stepping away."
Well, a new report claims that Disney actually removed them from the Star Wars project shortly after the Game of Thrones series finale. That finale was apparently responsible for killing Benioff and Weiss' Star Wars project and the reason it was officially announced this week is because of the comments Benioff and Weiss made recently at an event in Austin. This news comes from Vanity Fair reporter Joanna Robinson's The Storm podcast:

Our phones were locked in little mesh pouches so we communicated the way people did in the Dark Ages: we reenacted Vines. Last night, deep inside The Forum in Los Angeles, a group of young men formed a circle around their friend who was wearing a Florida Marlins hat –– one of the old ones –– and channeling Kanye West from a famous clip in which the rapper, drunk and determined, punctuates a series of nonsense syllables with “I’M Off That Goose Right Now.” This was in the entryway to a men’s bathroom,...

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 842 new members in their annual effort to bring in new blood to the organization that hands out the Oscars. This is down from the 928 members invited last year, but 50% of this year’s number are women, inching closer to the goal of creating an even playing field between female and male members. It marks an 7% increase in female members from 2015 to an overall 32% of the entire organization.
A total of 29% of the new class revealed Monday are people of color, marking an 8% increase in that statistic since 2015. Among the new invitees, 21 are already Oscar winners and 82 are past Oscar nominees.
New members among the acting branch include recent Best Song winner Lady Gaga, who is also being invited to the music branch; Sterling K. Brown; Claire Foy; and actors ranging in age from 23-year-old Spider-Man Tom Holland to the (shamefully) never-nominated legendary French star,...

It seems news of The Walking Dead‘s movie trilogy for Rick Grimes is right around the corner.
Or so says social media guru Johnny O’Dell, who recently fielded questions about AMC’s Walking Dead saga as part of Skybound’s mailbag feature (h/t ComicBook.com). Alas, O’Dell didn’t have much to share, but he did confirm that an official announcement will be made sooner rather than later.
It isn’t much to go on, but with The Walking Dead season 10 currently slated for a premiere in October, and the fifth season of Fear The Walking Dead expected to commence on Saturday, June 2nd, we fully expect AMC to divulge more details on that Rick Grimes movie trilogy during the summer.
Until then, we’ll just have to trust O’Dell’s judgment…
We promise you guys will get an update sooner rather than later. Seriously.

Brace yourselves, more Game of Thrones puns are coming.
Winter finally arrived on The Walking Dead Season 9 episode 16, but unlike the raging snowstorm that engulfed the communities, it was mostly uneventful. However, that's somewhat forgiving considering that last weeks emotional rollercoaster was a tough act to follow.
Getting a glimpse of how the groups deal with the elements while trying to survive is something that has never gotten depicted before. And while it did a decent job of showcasing that and would have been a great standalone episode, but as a season finale, it didn't quite work.
"The Storm" had a lot of promise going into the episode, as the idea of being a part of the groups physical and emotional journey through the harshness of winter while dealing with the dead was a very intriguing scenario.
The closest we've ever been to experiencing that situation previously was during The Walking Dead...

Winter is here. No, you didn’t accidentally click on a “Game of Thrones” piece. “The Walking Dead” beat the HBO epic to the punch by introducing a ferocious blizzard in the Season 9 finale, “The Storm.” Although ten cast members were killed off last week, the suffering isn’t over for the survivors. Ezekiel (Khary Payton) narrates the opening sequence over the radio system and viewers learn that the pipes finally exploded at The Kingdom, with fires destroying much of the infrastructure. The Kingdom has fallen, and its inhabitants must brave brutal conditions as they journey to find sanctuary at The Hilltop. These are the top five moments from “The Storm.”

Last Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead was a real punch to the gut for fans. The final scene of the penultimate installment of season 9 saw Daryl, Michonne, Carol and Yumiko discover that Alpha and her Whisperers had murdered not one, not two but 10 of their people, placing their decapitated, zombified heads on pikes in order to make a macabre border for their territory.
Though fans were primed to expect a massacre like this one at Ezekiel’s fair because it also happens in the comics, the TV show still surprised us as it featured a virtually all-new line-up of victims, which meant it still came as a devastating blow when we found out what had happened.
To mark the shocking development, AMC has now released a special tribute video to the fallen 10, which brings together clips from across these characters’ journeys on the show. Rest in peace, Tara,...

Following the deaths of Henry (Matt Lintz), Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Enid (Katelyn Nacon) in the penultimate episode, the Walking Dead season nine finale has its work cut out for it. The biggest death sequence of the season is almost certainly in the rearview mirror at this point, as the Whisperers' grim border wall comes straight from the pages of Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's comic book series — and few things have rivaled its tragic horror before or since.

Andrew Lincoln left The Walking Dead behind last fall when the longtime star of the show exited in episode 5 of the current season. It seems the actor might be slightly regretting that, however, as his good pal Norman Reedus has revealed that Lincoln told him he feels he left the series at the wrong time after seeing how good the season turned out.
Ahead of this week’s grand finale, Reedus spoke to EW about how much he’s enjoyed making the show this year and how pumped the whole crew is about how it’s turned out. In doing so, the actor quoted something Lincoln had told him in a recent catch-up, saying:

The penultimate episode of The Walking Dead season 9 ended on a whopper of a cliffhanger. After Alpha had kidnapped them, Daryl, Michonne, Carol and Yumiko discovered that 10 of their own had been brutally killed by the Whisperers, with their heads put on pikes as a warning. It was a game-changing scene, but apparently the end sequence of this week’s season finale will be even more transformative for the series.

After Breaking Bad and Mad Men went off the air, AMC has relied heavily on The Walking Dead, which has become the network’s flagship show in recent years. However, despite the series’ popularity among fans, its ratings have continued to decline over the past few years, and things hit an all-time low this past Sunday.
As reported by Cosmic Book News, series ratings have fallen to their lowest yet with the show’s most recent episode, which aired on March 24th. “The Calm Before,” which serves as the ninth season’s penultimate episode, scored a series low of 1.5 in the key 18-49 demographic, with a mere 4.15 million viewers tuning in. This marks a decline from the previous episode, “Scars,” which had 4.57 million viewers.
In fact, this season of The Walking Dead has seen the release of a handful of episodes which set new records for low ratings for the long-running show,...

The Walking Dead has decided to hijack the Avengers: Endgame marketing to promote the season 9 finale coming this Sunday. Earlier today, Marvel Studios released a whole bunch of character posters for the heroes of next month’s movie, with those still alive in color and those who perished in Infinity War in monochrome. As fans know, Endgame will see the survivors mourn their loss and aim to get even with who’s responsible.
When you think about it, that’s pretty much the same situation that’s happening on Twd right now, too. The season’s penultimate episode, “The Calm Before,” saw the Whisperers massacre 10 victims, which was a devastating blow to our heroes who’ll have to process their grief and do something about it in the finale. The Walking Dead Twitter account was quick to make this comparison as they mocked up some parody Endgame posters this morning,...

The Walking Dead season 9 is grinding to a blood-soaked, desperate and incredibly grim finale. The penultimate episode, ‘The Calm Before” seemed to show us a ray of light, but in true Walking Dead fashion, that ray of light was soon eclipsed by horror. Ezekiel’s fair, which for a moment seemed like an oasis of peace, turned into a bloodbath when Alpha and her Whisperers arrived, killing many and leaving the survivors in a pretty desperate state.
Now, with the Kingdom having fallen, the communities must face “The Storm.” This is both a literal storm and a metaphorical one, with the survivors having to deal with some of the direst circumstances they’ve seen yet. Here’s the official synopsis:
“In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard; as one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.

Still need to catch your breath? We wouldn’t blame you.
Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead, “The Calm Before,” turned up the heat with Alpha snatching a number of unsuspecting people from the fair – namely Tara (Alanna Masterson), Enid (Katelyn Nacon), DJ (Matt Mangum), and Henry (Matt Lintz) – and displaying their decapitated heads for all to see.
Even by the show’s own lofty standards, last night’s episode was as brutal as it was horrifying, but it was also a window into the mind of Samantha Morton’s chief Whisperer, who has clearly marked her territory. She’s undoubtedly the big bad of The Walking Dead season 9 – so much so, in fact, that the disheveled Negan may prove to be an unlikely ally as Sunday’s finale approaches.
But one thing’s immediately clear: The Walking Dead fans did not expect such a left-field twist, particularly...

The Walking Dead has successfully made it out of the frying pan and into the freezer… or something to that effect.
For months – nay, years – fans have been calling on AMC’s creative team to nudge Twd towards uncharted territory. The result? After nine seasons and a startling time jump, we finally have our snow episode, and it’s coming this Sunday.
Entitled “The Storm,” season 9’s finale explores the aftermath of an “overwhelming loss,” which may or may not have something to do with Alpha and her wicked ways. Whatever the case, AMC has dropped a slew of high-res photos for The Walking Dead‘s next installment, in which Negan accompanies our group of survivors. It could well be that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s snarling baddie is on the road to redemption, after all…

This past weekend, The Walking Dead viewers experienced the calm before the storm.
Not that it was entirely calm, mind you, as Sunday’s episode still brought about a lot of major plot developments that will no doubt spill over into the season 9 finale, “The Storm.” Chief among them being Alpha’s next move. Her actions became the core talking point of Entertainment Weekly’s recent interview with Angela Kang, series showrunner on The Walking Dead and the person responsible for bringing an end to season 9 – and, presumably, setting the stage for season 10 ahead of its own premiere in October.
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s draw our attention to Alpha, leader of the Whisperers and our worst nightmare. Below, Kang reflects on the moment when Daryl, Michonne, Carol, Yumiko, and Siddiq discover their friends have been killed Game of Thrones-style with their heads mounted on pikes.

The Walking Dead had another of its patented character wipeouts last night as the penultimate episode of season 9 saw not one or two but ten survivors murdered by Alpha and the Whisperers. Attacking during Ezekiel’s trade fair, the villains displayed their victims’ decapitated heads on pikes to mark their territory and among the dead were Tara, Enid and Henry, something that came as a shock to fans as none of them were involved in the comic book version of the event.
Things weren’t originally intended to play out this way, though. While speaking to EW, showrunner Angela Kang explained that initially the plan was to have the massacre end the season. However, the writers then decided it would be better to explore the aftermath of the event before wrapping things up. With that in mind, Kang teases that the finale will be less of a bang to end...

You’d think after 10 years and countless episodes that The Walking Dead universe would be on the wane. Not so.
AMC’s zombie flagship is fast approaching the finale of season 9, while sister series Fear The Walking Dead continues to perform above all expectations. And according to the franchise’s chief content officer, Scott Gimple, 2020 is “gonna be bananas” for this undead universe, what with the Rick Grimes movie trilogy coming down the pipeline.
While appearing on Sunday’s episode of Talking Dead (h/t ComicBook.com), Gimple noted that Fear‘s next installment will contain some connective tissue with the wider Walking Dead franchise, while it won’t be too much longer before we know the whereabouts (and fate) of a certain Rick Grimes.
We’re working on a number of things right now, they’re getting very close. We’re gonna have a steady flow of announcements through the rest of the year,...

It seems like Lionsgate is feeling confident in their upcoming Hellboy reboot because they are reportedly already planning some sequels. While talking to Collider, producer Lloyd Levin says the team is planning for sequel in what he calls a “vague sense.”
Levin goes on to explain that the track has been laid in the comic books of where a sequel would go saying:
“Not in a No. 2 will be this and No. 3 will be that. But you can tell yourself. If this starts with The Wild Hunt, the track is laid from there in the comic books where you could go.”
This first Hellboy reboot was inspired by the Hellboy comic arcs of Darkness Calls, The Wild Hunt, and two sets of interconnecting mini-series in The Storm and The Fury. If the film series follows the comic arcs, it would most likely lead to the Hellboy in Hell story arc...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details of tonight’s Season 9 penultimate episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead.
“We’ve known for years that this moment would come eventually, and it didn’t feel right to wait past this season,” says The Walking Dead executive producer Angela Kang of the killing of 10 characters on the AMC series in tonight’s Season 9 penultimate episode.
Twd has long let the blood and mayhem flow in the second to last episode of most season, but the massacre on tonight’s “The Calm Before” may be the most stridulous ever – at least in terms of sheer numbers.
While perhaps lacking the visceral impact of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan smashing in the heads of Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) at the beginning of Season 7, the vengeance of the Samantha Morton-led Whisperers recreated one of the most grueling scenes from the Robert Kirkman comics.

The Walking Dead TV series is heading toward one of the comic book’s most brutally iconic moments this week.
Warning: Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 9!
Viewers of AMC’s The Walking Dead who are unacquainted with the show’s comic book source material might dismiss the current group of antagonists, the skin-mask-wearing Whisperers, as yet another freaky result of savage, post-apocalyptic societal devolution who will inevitably get their asses handed to them by the show’s vigilant survivor communities of Alexandria, Hilltop and the Kingdom. However, those viewers are going to be surprised by this week’s episode, “The Calm Before,” which is the penultimate chapter of Season 9.
Indeed, The Walking Dead‘s official Twitter account– evoking imagery from Game of Thrones’ infamously iconic main character massacre, “The Red Wedding” – just affirmed the notion that the show is in store for a monumental moment that...
