WOW

Maybe there are a few plotholes, but that is the case with all science fiction. This is, in my opinion, the BEST sci-fi show ever! It has a beginning, a middle and an end. Things ties throughout the show, and I for one loves the way things come together in this final episode. I LOVED the ride! Thank you!

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.

If like me you came looking for self-acknowledging comments from other like-minded fans then you're in the right place. Through 4 seasons of highs and lows, though mainly highs, the question is always asked of any series.. "there must be some kind of way outta here", well unlike GoT these guys did it right. I won't spoil anything incase you are foolishly reading reviews of something you haven't watched yet, but let me just say, all of this has happened before, but will it all happen again?

The Perfection of Creation
spasek20 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've been watching shows for over 45 years; shows from the U. S., Britain, Korea, and even Japan. And yet I can barely count on one hand the number of shows that affect me so profoundly even after repeated viewings. Battlestar Galactica is one of them. And it is currently my favorite show of all-time. If I were stuck on an island and could only choose one show to bring, this would be it.

I've lost count the number of pearls of wisdom, gems of inspiration, and golden nuggets of spirituality that weave themselves like a thread throughout the course of the series. I still believe that no other show ever created, presents us with the fabric of the human condition in such a broad spectrum as this one. We have everything from science, spirituality, mysticism, religion, culture, politics, racism, self-preservation, and on and on. What show can make such a claim other than BSG?

There are those who have a problem with BSG's concluding three-part epic finale. Perhaps those are people who prefer to have everything told and laid out before them. Thsoe who don't want to think or even introspect. To my mind, this is one of the most profoundly beautiful conclusions to a show I've ever seen. And precisely because it invites and even demands viewer participation to decide for yourself how to interpret the meaning behind events and characters. To deny a higher power is like putting your head in the sand. Even Einstein himself stated that the more he explored and experimented with the fabric of creation, the more he was convinced that "something else" was at work. So, why is this such a hard concept for so many? Shakespeare might have summed up this thought better than any other: there is more in heaven and earth than can dreamt up in your philosophy.

In the end, it's all about the perfection of creation--as Sam Anders wisely professes in an interview--that we are creative beings, and we are the writers of our own stories.

The flashbacks of Adama, Tigh, Roslin, Baltar, Starbuck, and Apollo helps bring us full-circle; like finally tying things off to give us even more clarity.

The rescue of Hera was about as epic a final battle as you'll find as we watch Galactica--like a monstrous battering ram--pierce the Colony with forceful determination to go out in a blaze of glory.

We also see Starbuck fulfill her destiny and realize who she is. Call her an angel or whatever you want, but she was indeed, the harbinger of death, as Ronald Moore pointed out: she brought an end to the war between humans and Cylons; a death to cycle as she also finally takes Galactica and the people to Earth, just as she had promised.

Ronald Moore doesn't stop here as he challenges humanity itself through the angels of Baltar and Six. Will the cycle of violence come around again? Or will mankind make a different choice? Each person is instilled with the greatest gift: power to choose. Free will. That especially includes how we treat others as much as how we treat ourselves. The saddest people are those who see enemies everywhere and those who blame others for whatever misfortunes they have experienced. But, it doesn't have to be that we way. We can make a different choice.

After all, all of this has happened before, but will it happen again? That is the question.

Sci-Fi at it's best!!

I enjoyed the original show even though it got canceled after only one season. BSG had good character development and solid writing, something that is rarely seen in sci-fi shows. I heard there may be a new BSG show in the works? That would be interesting to see where they go with it.

This sci-fi series has at all ! Romance, drama, excitement, realism etc. INCREDIBLE producer work, AMAZING acting in almost every actor in this show. Battlestar Galactica is one of, if not THE BEST sci-fi show ever created and should be definetly one of the all time Classics. Realistically this could be humanitys future or the past... Enjoy the ride ! Everyone should see this show 100%.

I Agree with George RR Martin

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this series every week. Early on, it was tremendous; then at some point the writing got kind of bizarre. I thought (hoped) that the finale would tie it all together.

George RR Martin was also a devoted fan of the series who hated the ending. He basically said (paraphrasing) "after all that, God did it? That's just bad writing..."

I gave it seven stars because the overall series was a 9 and the ending was a 5. I have to admit that if they came out with another series I would watch it-

An apt final episode
grantss18 December 2023
The final showdown for the survival of the human and Cylon races has begun with the main aim being that of finding the destination for the fleet. Ultimately it's up to Starbuck to lead the fleet to safety - what will be the outcome? Where will they end up?

I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Battlestar Galactica but the final two have been somewhat lacklustre. Substance has been replaced by style and emptiness: twists for twists' sake, changes of characters for the worse, plot developments that seem contrived and inconsistent, mind-bendy nonsense, empty sentimentality and generally and quite a lot of filler. There have been some great episodes that pulls the show back on course but these were the exception rather than the norm

This episode contains all the things that made Season 4 (and much of Season 3 too) such a chore: the random detours, twists for twists' sake, empty sentimentality and lots of filler. This episode really only has about 15 minutes of substance, the rest is just nothingness. At one point I felt this would be a perfect place to end the series, only to notice there was still about 25 minutes left! Even after the filler we then had another attempt at a twist!

At least it's over, at last.

A Rose by any other name----- review of the series
lindabellcrandall16 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched every episode. This series could have been called anything There is nothing about this series like the original except the title. I think it was called "Battlestar Galactica" to entice original fans to watch it. While it is a fairly good piece of work, it is a title ripoff. As the series went on the writing became uneven, overtly religious and preachy. Watchable but nothing to do a happy-happy-joy dance over.
