Meets Expectations as a guitar hero game, but really aimed at Metallica Fans.

I am a big fan of the Guitar hero series. i always have been. I don't own some of the newer ones because they've changed. the first guitar heroes were awesome because of their underground feel. playing GH, GH2, and GH: 80's was like playing something very special, something no one thought of before. But ever since the release of Rock band, Guitar hero had to appeal to it's fans by adding drums, and a microphone, but thanks to that, you really can't call guitar hero, guitar hero anymore.

Now it appeals to Metallica Fans, which is awesome, because metallica is one of the most decorated metal bands of all time, if not the best. Personally, my favorite metal bands are Megadeth and Slayer, But it's very, very hard to play whatever songs they dish out because they're so fast. with metallica, they carry a mix. songs like Unforgiven and Enter Sandman Run slow, While Master of puppets and whiplash go fast so you can go fast too.

Bottom line, it's a guitar hero game. If you really like metallica, then this game should belong to you.

The closest thing to experience Metallica's Heaven.

When I first heard about this game, as a die hard Metallica fan, I knew I had to get it at all costs. So I decided to spend a big part of my two-weeks salary and buy the game and the whole Guitar Hero World Tour band.

The gaming experience is a blast. The musical experience is amazing. The sole purpose of the game is to pay tribute to Metallica and re-create a concert by them. I mean, you get to be James, Lars, Kirk, or Robert during a concert but I have to admit that playing in the "challenge" mode is more entertaining.

The first time you play "Master Of Puppets", "One", "Mercyful Fate", etc. you just can't help but feel shivers.

It's an amazing experience overall and should be played loud. Be sure to get a powerful sound system.

As a die hard fan of Metallica, I completely recommend this game and it must be an obligation for fans of the band.

Guitar Hero Metallica is a must-have!

Guitar Hero Metallica is a must-have for all music gamers and especially hardcore Metallica fans (like myself). It's a lot of fun to play no doubt about it. This game got everything dead-on. The style, the playability, loads of extra features, and most importantly, a very good selection of songs that Guitar Hero hasn't been doing the past few years. Don't get me wrong. There are good songs in the past Guitar Hero games but not enough to soothe the rock/metal beast within the soul of a rocker. However, Guitar Hero Metallica makes my metal beast very satisfied!

In Career mode, you began as the band, Metallica, marching into the sold-out arena swarm with loud applause and "Ectasy of Gold" blaring from every corner of the packed place and you begin playing "For Whom the Bell Tolls." In my opinion, this introduction is just simply fantastic! After the intro, the game begins starting with you, a member of a local band, that would like to go on tour with Metallica. Then the fun begins!

There are many great Metallica songs from "Kill'em All" to "Death Magnetic." All the classics! Also, the play list has over 20 guest acts including, Lynard Skynard, Mastadon, Judas Priest, Queen, Foo Fighters, Bob Segar, and many more.

Unlike "Guitar Hero Aerosmith", a pretty good music game but not satisfying to others, you can play more than one instrument. Similar to the previous "GH" game, "Guitar Hero World Tour", you can also perform as a guitarist, bassist, a vocalist, or a drummer. The drums are lots of fun but very challenging, There's even an extra difficulty for the drum set called "Expert+" and I got two words for the person that wants to give a go on that difficulty. Good Luck.

I also like how the list of songs in the Career mode are laid out. Just like the old "GH" games. Unlike, "World Tour" playing 3 or 4 songs in a row basically without breaks.

The only flaw about this game that I did notice, is in the Photo Gallery section located in the Bonus Materials. It seems there isn't a single photo of either Cliff Burton or Jason Newsted (former bassists of Metallica). Sure they do mention them in the "Metallifacts" feature but it just felt like they were just cropped out or erased from existence in the photo gallery. Secondly (here comes the inside-joke from the other "GH" bulletins that i posted), where's Graveyard BBQ!? They deserve it being on another "GH" game! Come on!

Overall, Guitar Hero Metallica is must-have for the young and old! Get it or Lars Ulrich will get you. Yeah you over there! Stop downloading "Enter Sandman"! Oh well. Anyways, Rock on!!!

Unless you're a die-hard Metallica fan, skip this one

Warning: Spoilers
Guitar hero has been very disappointing lately. Starting with Aerosmith GH, which was pretty much GH3 but with Aerosmith songs. Then we had World Tour, which had good potential but came off as pretty rushed and uninspired. Now we have ANOTHER Cash-in, which is "Guitar Hero: Metallica".

Being a fan of their pre-Black stuff and Death Magnetic, I decided to give this one a try. Looks like we were duped once again, boys and girls.

PROS: -Good tracklisting -Pretty good graphics -Will support vocals like on GHWT

CONS: -Too many Master of Puppets songs. I know it's their best album, but almost the whole album is on here. Where are some of the other songs that are great, like Motorbreath, Escape, Ride The Lightning, and THE CALL OF KTULU???????? How could they not include The Call of Ktulu on a Metallica-based game? -This is pretty much GHWT, but with Metallica as the band. The Menus and venues are exactly the same. And the characters are the same too, nothing new. -You're paying 60 bucks for only 49 songs, including the inspirations. I know this is just an expansion pack, but still, they could have included more songs. -On the influences bit, why did they re-record the Motorhead and Mercyful Fate songs? It makes no sense. -The double bass system needs a LOT of work. Lots of bugs in it. -I played on hard, and beat the game without failing a single song. I may be good, but that's not the point- see, usually it takes me a couple tries to get some songs, but that's not the case here, and even the hardest song is easy.

Overall, this is nothing but just a cheap cash-in attempt. I know Activision and RedOctane are notorious for doing things like this, but still. It's a complete waste of money unless you're a die-hard fan.
