Between "Only Murders in the Building" and "Selena + Chef" on Max, Selena Gomez has understandably put making music on a bit of hold - until now, that is. On Aug. 25, the 31-year-old singer released her newest single, "Single Soon," a summery pop song that fans are already praising for its fun beat and empowering lyrics.
Gomez announced the song drop a full week before its release via Instagram, noting that fans have been wanting new music for some time. "Y'all have been asking for new music for a while," she wrote. "Since I'm not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that's perfect for the end of summer. Single Soon. August 25th. Presave it now.

Velvet Hammer Media, the non-scripted production company founded by Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn, has received a minority investment from global sports and entertainment company Endeavor.
William Morris Endeavor, talent agency within Endeavor, represents athletes from sports organizations like the NHL and NFL. Endeavor currently owns UFC and Pbr (Professional Bull Riders).
Vhm just recently secured series such as “The Big Bakeover” and Roku’s “Empty Nest Refresh” along with other unannounced development deals with Netflix, NBCU and other platforms. Together, O’Connell and Quinn serve as EPs on all Vhm projects. The pair founded Vhm earlier this year after departing their roles at Max (formerly HBO Max).

Endeavor is making another move in the unscripted content space, investing in Velvet Hammer Media, founded by producers Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn.
Velvet Hammer launched earlier this year, and has already secured greenlights for shows like The Big Bakeover for The CW and Roku Channel’s Empty Nest Refresh. The company also has projects in development at Netflix and NBCUniversal, among other companies.
Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
Unscripted fare has long been a staple of TV networks and streaming services, but the ongoing writers strike has made the space even more appealing, with production on the programs able to continue even as everything else gets shut down.
O’Connell and Quinn are industry veterans, with O’Connell most recently executive VP of nonfiction and live action family originals at HBO Max (including shows like FBoy Island and Selena + Chef), while Quinn was senior VP of nonfiction at HBO Max.

While Harry Potter and Game of Thrones may have scored the biggest headlines at this morning’s newly rebranded Max launch event, one of the more understated nuggets was the handful of unscripted originals coming to the service.
Kathleen Finch, Chairman and Chief Content Officer, Warner Bros. Discovery’s U.S. Networks Group, revealed four new projects that will premiere on the service – dating series Love and Translation, adventure series Survive The Raft, Barbie Dream House Challenge and Octavia Spencer-exec produced true-crime series Lost Women of Highway 20.
This comes after the previous incarnation, HBO Max, moved out of unscripted originals, having previously made series such as FBoy Island, Legendary and Selena + Chef, under Jen O’Connell’s leadership.
However, these new Max originals are part of a shared universe, that will see these shows also air on Discovery+, which is remaining as a standalone service, as well as linear channels,...
