Taylor Sheridan’s neo-western drama series Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner in the lead, became a runaway success with audiences and critics thanks to the actor-turned-writer’s sharp screenplay and story. Encouraged by the reception, the Veronica Mars star went on to create two prequels to the series namely 1883 and 1923, which traced the ancestry of the Duttons and the Yellowstone ranch.

1923 saw two veteran superstars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren playing the central protagonists. In an interview, Sheridan spoke of the effort and detail involved in the production design of the series. When asked about comparisons to a James Cameron masterpiece regarding the colossal budget that was involved, the creator took the reference to another Hollywood epic to state his point.

At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore,” he said. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Here’s everything we know about Beverly Hills Cop 4!

The 10 Things I Hate About You cast probably didn’t know it then, but the actors in the 1999 teen rom-com would get their breakout role. In the 25 years since its release, 10 Things I Hate About You has become a cult classic and a career highlight for its actors.
On the surface, 10 Things I Hate About You doesn’t sound like a recipe for success. A William Shakespeare play reworked into a teen comedy featuring a cast of mostly unknown actors? Critics didn’t fall head over heels for it in 1999, but the movie’s appeal has grown over time and attracted new generations of fans (even if sequel plans failed). And if the 10 Things I Hate About You cast was unknown then, now there is no mistaking the talent of stars like Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool & Wolverine is gearing up for release in July of this year. The film would be the sole MCU theatrical release of the year and would formally introduce the X-Men into the MCU. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and a host of other characters from Fox Studios’ Marvel entries are confirmed to appear in the film.
Recently, popular scooper Can We Get Some Toast reported that the majority of the film would be taking place in The Void, a space that was introduced in Loki. The teaser of the film indicated that the film would be a multiversal story with Deadpool going to different timelines. When Bruce Willis announced his retirement from acting in 2022 due to his condition, his dream to play one role in a film franchise ended. Willis was a big fan of the James Bond films. After watching Javier Bardem portray an exceptional villain in Daniel Craig’s Skyfall, Willis openly stated in 2013 that he was up for playing a big baddie in the next Bond film.

However, the role of the crime organization leader Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the next film, Spectre, went to Christoph Waltz. Bruce Willis never got the call from James Bond makers, who wrapped up Daniel Craig’s iteration of films in 2021 with No Time to Die.

Emily Blunt, the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, has been described by The Daily Beast as “one of the most impressive actresses working today,” by The Guardian as “the biggest British female movie star of her generation” and by her three-time collaborator Meryl Streep as “the best young actress I’ve worked with in some time, perhaps ever.” She already has Critics Choice, Golden Globe and SAG awards on her mantelpiece. “The Girl on the Train,” “A Quiet Place,” “Mary Poppins Returns,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Sicario,” “Looper,” “The Young Victoria.” Those are just a select few of the many acclaimed performances delivered by Emily Blunt in her first two decades as a star. She has been nominated for seven Golden Globes, seven Critics’ Choice Awards, four SAG Awards and three BAFTAs. She’s won at the Globes (“Gideon’s Daughter”), Critics’ Choice (“Edge of Tomorrow”) and SAG (“A Quiet Place.”) So how has this widely beloved actress not had her time in the sun with the academy?
She has never been part of a Best Picture nominee. None of those aforementioned films of hers made the cut with the academy in the top category. This will undoubtedly change with “Oppenheimer.” Indeed this 3-hour pressure-cooker of an epic is widely predicted to win the top prize.

It’s a killer premise: a secret organization called The Lazarus Project exists to prevent the end of the world. Every time global events escalate to the point of no return, Lazarus resets time – taking the entire world back to the most recent 1st July passed (the check point) giving the team time to prevent the catastrophic occurrence. It’s clever and timey-wimey with room to explore the consequences of the resets for the people who are aware of them, but also for the people who are not.
And season two is ramping things up all over again.

Emily Blunt has apologized for an insensitive comment she made in a 12-year-old interview.
Blunt has recently received a lot of online criticism in response to her calling a waitress “enormous.”
She has since responded to her comments during the talk show appearance.
“I just need to address this head-on as my jaw was on the floor watching this clip from 12 years ago. I’m appalled that I would say something so insensitive, hurtful, and unrelated to whatever story I was trying to tell on a talk show,” Blunt said.
“I’ve always considered myself someone who wouldn’t dream of upsetting anyone so whatever possessed me to say anything like this in that moment is unrecognizable to me or anything I stand for,” she added. “And yet it happened, and I said it and I’m so sorry for any hurt caused. I was absolutely old enough to know better.

Emily Blunt is addressing a recently resurfaced video from a 2012 talk show appearance where she can be heard using “insensitive” and “hurtful” language.
In the recently discovered YouTube clip from the U.K.’s Jonathan Ross Show, the Oppenheimer actress recalls going out to eat at a restaurant during her time filming Looper in the U.S. and then refers to a restaurant server as “enormous.”
Now, Blunt is apologizing in a statement shared with People magazine. “I just need to address this head on as my jaw was on the floor watching this clip from 12-years ago,” she wrote. “I’m appalled that I would say something so insensitive, hurtful, and unrelated to whatever story I was trying to tell on a talk show.”

Emily Blunt is getting ahead of a potential scandal by telling People magazine she is “appalled” about a September 2012 appearance on the UK’s “Jonathan Ross Show” in which she called a waiter “enormous.” The actor was promoting her role in Rian Johnson’s “Looper” at the time. A clip of Blunt calling the waiter “enormous” must’ve begun circulating online, as the actor issued a statement to People in which she apologized for her language.

Back in 2019, “Iron Man 3” production executive Chris Fenton filed an explosive lawsuit against former employer Dmg Entertainment, a once-highflying company that bridged Hollywood movies and Chinese distribution.
After a legal back and forth that included a Dmg countersuit that was later tossed, Fenton’s case is finally headed to trial next week and is expected to expose some of the opaque ways China did business in Hollywood before tensions between the U.S. and the communist superpower boiled over in 2021, leading studios to reassess their plans for the market. On Oct. 23, Fenton v. Dmg is scheduled to begin in California Superior Court, with Robert Downey Jr. and tentpole producer Neal Moritz expected to be on the witness list.
Although Fenton, a former William Morris agent who worked at Dmg for 17 years, is a respected member of the Hollywood community with a Washington, D.C., presence as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations,...

Bruce Willis burst onto the American entertainment scene as the glib, smart-alecky detective David Addison Jr. opposite Cybill Shepherd’s Maddie Haynes in ABC’s Moonlighting, a show that helped launch the dramedy genre. Willis was not long for the small screen, though, with his his sharp tongue and sarcastic wit destined for bigger things.
More than 90 films and $5.3 billion later, Willis has played a smart-aleck New York detective in the Die Hard series, a smart-aleck oil driller-turned-astronaut in Armageddon, a smart-aleck cop in The Last Boy Scout, a smart-aleck gangster in Last Man Standing, a smart-aleck soldier in Tears of the Sun … well, you get the picture.
When he wasn’t cracking wise, Willis played many other memorable roles in films that included The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), Billy Bathgate (1991), Color of Night (1994), 12 Monkeys (1995), The Fifth Element (1997), The Sixth Sense (1999) The Story of Us (1999), Looper (2012) and Motherless Brooklyn...

Consider this: you’ve made an acclaimed “Star Wars” sequel, reinvigorated the whodunit genre, scored an Oscar nomination and spawned an unlikely franchise. What do you do next? If you’re Rian Johnson, you turn around and offer a helping hand to young filmmakers coming up behind you, nurturing one of the buzziest movies of the fall in the process: “Fair Play.”
Writer/director Chloe Domont’s debut feature, a steamy erotic thriller about the power dynamics between two young people (Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor) who both work as financial analysts for the same cutthroat hedge fund, is an unmitigated success. After a bidding war at Sundance, the film was snatched up by Netflix for a cool $20 million, and it’s now currently one of the most-watched new titles on the platform following its release earlier this month.

Movies are back on PlayStation — although they’re all titles from corporate cousin Sony Pictures Entertainment.
More than two years ago, PlayStation shut down its service offering movie and TV show purchases and rentals. At the time, Sony Interactive Entertainment explained that was making the move because it was seeing a growing number of PlayStation users shifting to free and subscription streaming-video services.
Now Sony has decided to bring back movies to the gaming console in partnership with its studio arm. On Thursday, Sony Interactive Entertainment launched the Sony Pictures Core app (previously branded as Bravia Core on Bravia TVs and select Xperia devices) on PS5 and PS4 consoles. A key selling point: The app lets you stream Hdr movies at up to 80 megabits per second — which Sony says provides picture quality “similar to 4K Uhd Blu-ray” — and includes a large collection of Imax Enhanced titles.

Guillermo del Toro, the acclaimed director of The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth, and Hellboy, has recently expressed his admiration for Punch-Drunk Love, a 2002 romantic comedy film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Adam Sandler. Del Toro tweeted that Punch-Drunk Love was his favorite PTA film and praised the score by Jon Brion, which he said he had been playing “in a loop” for weeks.
Punch-Drunk Love tells the story of Barry Egan, a socially awkward and emotionally unstable man who falls in love with Lena Leonard, a woman who accepts him for who he is. Barry also has to deal with a phone sex scam, a violent encounter with his sisters, and a frequent flyer miles scheme. The film is widely regarded as one of Sandler’s best performances and a departure from his usual comedic roles.

Plot: A man from the future, now trapped in the past, tries to live a lowkey life without disrupting predetermined events, oblivious to the consequences of his foolish actions.
Review: Traveling to the past is a risky business. If you’re not careful, the slightest mistake could alter the course of history, triggering a domino effect of events never intended. Your best strategy to survive the ordeal is to lay low, complete your mission, and return to your time. In Relax, I’m From the Future, Casper (Rhys Darby) thinks rules are malleable and gaming the system to live comfortably is worth the risk of upending the universe. He isn’t looking to harm anyone, quite the opposite. Still, Casper isn’t the brightest crayon in the box, and when things don’t work out as intended, he quickly discovers it takes more than one person to make a difference.

Judy Greer’s iconic career has spanned from “13 Going on 30” to the revamped “Halloween” franchise, proving the actress can delicately balance comedy, horror, and even a certain flavor of signature detachment onscreen. Yet, somehow, the time travel logic of 2004’s comedy “13 Going on 30” makes more sense than the kind at hand in “Aporia,” the latest Greer vehicle that attempts to marry scraps from Greer’s recent haunting performance as a grieving mother in recent festival premiere “Eric Larue” and repurposes her masterful tears into a bland sci-fi drama that asks too many unanswered questions about morality, mortality, and the price of happiness.
Greer stars in the film as Sophie, a widowed single mother who lost her scientist husband Malcolm (Edi Gathegi) in a drunk driving accident. She is left to care for their 11-year-old daughter Riley (“This Is Us” alum Faithe Herman), with the pre-teen acting...

Christopher Nolan directed the epic biographical thriller film ‘Oppenheimer’ which is adapted from Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin’s biography ‘American Prometheus’.
The plot focuses on the early studies of Oppenheimer and how he directed the Manhattan Project during WWII and his fall from grace owing to his security hearing in 1954.
When Has ‘Oppenheimer’ been Released?
Director Sam Mendes expressed interest in adapting Bird and Sherwin’s biography ‘American Prometheus’ following its publication in 2005.
But during the next fifteen years, the authors grew pessimistic about a film adaptation of their work which caused the project not to be materialized.
Finally, in September 2021, it was announced that Christopher Nolan would write and direct the biographical film with Cillian Murphy in negotiations as a lead cast member.
It is the sixth collaboration of Nolan and Murphy and the first one in which Murphy starred as a lead.

It’s not just actors and writers who deserve residuals when their work is used as training data for AI. If you ask Joseph Gordon-Levitt, everyone should be entitled to a cut if AI creates something based on something a human created.
Gordon-Levitt in an op-ed The Washington Post published on Wednesday tied one of the key fights at the heart of the SAG-AFTRA strike to society at large, saying that it’s not just actors and writers who are getting cut out of money and opportunities but that “doctors, engineers or pretty much anyone whose work involves a computer” is at risk of losing their job to artificial intelligence.

A version of this story about the cinematography of “Poker Face” first appeared in the Comedy Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Cinematographer Steve Yedlin has collaborated with two-time Oscar nominee Rian Johnson on every feature the latter has made, from 2005’s junior-noir “Brick” to the sci-fi mind-bender “Looper” to the striking “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” to last year’s “Knives Out” sequel, “Glass Onion,” and admits that “Poker Face,” Peacock’s sly fox of a mystery (for the uninitiated — envision a gender-swapped “Columbo” doing time on a fairly malevolent “Love Boat” that instead stays docked in different cities), is just part of a larger theme in their careers.

Netflix is on the cusp of taking down a wide selection of movies and TV series.
The streaming service removes numerous titles each month, but without fanfare; unless you happen to select the thing that’s about to leave, you will have no idea there’s a limited amount of time left to watch.
Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of every movie and TV show being removed from Netflix in April 2023.
We’ve aggregated all the impending removals from Netflix in the UK and US, which we’ve signalled below. If there isn’t a territory listed next to the title, then it will be leaving both.

Find a full list of every film and TV show arriving on Netflix this month here.
Nb: We put this list together with help from What’s on Netflix.

As befitting its status as one of the world’s biggest companies, every now and then Amazon likes to take a big swing with its Prime Video originals. With its list of new releases for April 2023, the streamer is taking one of its biggest swings yet.
Though it’s not quite as vast or expensive as fellow Prime Video series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Citadel (premiering April 28) is a massive, massive undertaking. Starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, this spy series is described as “an expansive and groundbreaking global event comprising a mothership series and several local language satellite series.” This means that the Russo Brothers-produced project will eventually feature several spinoffs in multiple countries and languages around the world. Neat-o!
The only other major TV original of note this month is Dead Ringers, based on the 1988 David Cronenberg film of the same name,...

The jury system can by trying, but “Jury Duty” — a doc-style comedy series coming to Freevee on April 7 — examines it through the eyes of one juror. The catch: The actual juror, Ronald Gladden, doesn’t realize the case is fake and everyone else is an actor. All the crazy machinations inside the courtroom are planned, and everyone is in on it, except for Gladden. Will this lone juror be able to find his way to justice despite all of the chaos surrounding the case?

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “Poker Face” Episode 9, “Escape From Shit Mountain,” now streaming on Peacock.
A week before the “Poker Face” Season 1 finale, Thursday’s episode featured one of series creator Rian Johnson’s favorite collaborators — Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And with “Poker Face” being the show it is, if you aren’t Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale, you’re either a murder victim, the murderer or an innocent bystander who gets caught in the crossfire.
Lucky for Gordon-Levitt, who says he was thrilled to learn that “Knives Out” and “Glass Onion” filmmaker Johnson had assigned him a ultimate “total dick” role. Gordon-Levitt was not just the murderer in this installment, “Escape From Shit Mountain,” but the most prolific murderer of the first season — someone who actually attempts to kill Charlie herself.
