It's 1796 in Italy, Napoleon writing letters to wife Josephine who enjoys high society back in Paris. She's cheating on him with Tony Anholt, a captain and fakes a pregnancy, which causes Napoleon to send for her. Her maid played by lovely blonde Janet Key also carries on with Colonel Junot (Christoher Neame) and Josephine successfully lies again when he arrives and sicovers she's not pregnant after all.
This episode is all about Josephine and her treachery, giving Napoleon a rest for a time. It's delicious watching her get away with cuckolding him and the other soldiers prove to be rotters too.
