Somebody Give These Guys A Proper Camera!!!

Ending The Eternal is an approximately 10 minute short amateur writer/director Justin McConnell. It's shot on HD which kind of sucks, because it renders the playback a bit choppy. Smoother editing would have helped too, but the rest of this home-made film is pretty decent. Lot's of gore packed into this little horror-comedy! It tells a story about a trio of equally amateur urban vampire hunters, who are moving in on a suspected vampire's nest...so that they can kill and rob him.

But they didn't plan things out so well. When the lead hunter stakes the vampire with a stake made of composite plastic fibre instead of wood...the vampire wakes up instead of burning up, like they were expecting.

And let's just say he wasn't too happy about it...

Apparently this was acting as a prequel for a feature length film that was planned for production in 2012. I'd like to check it out after watching this, if such is the case. The vampire makeup was really well done; while the special effects and gore were effective. Script was really well written too. Pretty funny stuff. Acting was cheese, but the main guy playing the vampire did an excellent job on his soliloquies.

I watched it on youtube, and besides the choppiness (I'm guessing from the framerate of the HD camera), it seemed pretty well made for something low budget. Recommended.

6 out of 10.
