Schauspielerin, Filmemacherin und Musikerin Nicolette Krebitz wird bei den Heimat Europa Filmfestspielen 2024 im Hunsrück über den Gewinner des „Edgar“ entscheiden. Erstmals wird ein Preis für den besten Nachwuchsfilm verliehen.

Die Heimat Europa Filmfestspiele in Simmern/Hunsrück, die von Edgar Reitz initiiert und unter seiner Schirmherrschaft stattfinden, konnten für die sechste Ausgabe Schauspielerin, Filmemacherin und Musikerin Nicolette Krebitz als Jurorin gewinnen. In dieser Funktion bestimmt sie allein über den „Edgar“, den Wettbewerbspreis für den besten modernen Heimatfilm aus dem Programm. Die Entscheidung, dass der Wettbewerbspreis von einer einzelnen Person ausgewählt wird, folgt dem ausdrücklichen Wunsch des Schirmherrn. In diesem Jahr stehen 13 Werke im Wettbewerb, davon sechs Debütfilme. Der „Edgar“ ist mit 2500 Euro dotiert und wird zum Abschluss der Filmfestspiele am 24. August in Anwesenheit von Krebitz verliehen.
