Su Ci and Pei Zhao (Prince Qi) set off to investigate missing disaster relief separately but end up working together. Xie BeiMing and Dong RuShuang demand to be allowed to assist in the effort.
Pei Zhao recognizes Su Ci as the dancing girl. Sha Du is murdered and Pei Zhao is implicated by proximity. Su Ci has to solve the case before continuing to pursue the missing funds.
Fei Yuan makes living arrangements to obscure Prince Qi's identity while making sure Su Ci and Dong RuShuang stay with him. A bride foils her own elopement and wedding tragically.

Su Ci pays tribute to her parents in her tribe's traditional manner on Mid-Autumn Festival. Xie BeiMing foils a charlatan hypnotist. Pei Zhao decides he wants to see the stars with Su Ci and starts a tricky treatment.
Fei Yuan reveals that Pei Zhao may go blind because of the interruption of his treatment to rescue Su Ci. Meanwhile, everyone looks to Dong RuShuang for an alternative treatment.
There is only one promotion available and Su Ci desperately wants it in order to have access to records that might reveal why her tribe was destroyed. As she prepares for the exam and the physical tests, Prince Qi's help instigates rumors.
Su Ci competes for the promotion. A maddened artist paints Su Ci and the painting ends up in the hands of Prince Yun. A delegation from Beirong arrives and a marriage alliance is proposed between the Princess and Prince Qi.
The Princess is poisoned and relations with Beirong are suddenly tense. With no clues or leads to help, the situation is dire. The Emperor is implored to allow Su Ci to investigate.
The fourth element of the poison is figured out and RuShuang is able to concoct a remedy. After the princess recovers negotiations about her marriage resume. Su Ci is reinstated and allowed her promotion.
Su Ci's heart is broken when she overhears a conversation and connects one of the voices to her past. She tries to continue the investigation on her own. Meanwhile, Prince Qi and the others are being watched by Peng Yi's people.
The Silk Empress takes more lives and Xu's wife believes she knows who it is and why. RuShuang grows concerned about BeiMing's apathy and the growing distance between them. Su Ci still looks for clues to the making of the brocade.
Jiang XiWen's suicide takes everyone by surprise. Grief-stricken, Prince Qi vows to find Tiang Song's murderer, clear XiWen's name and figure out why he committed suicide and if MingJing Office had any culpability in it.
Su Ci is called away to investigate a possible river source poisoning. Xie BeiMing makes sure that Su Ci and RuShuang get back to the capital safely. Prince Yun accuses Prince Qi of rebelling.
Liu Xuan begins the interrogation of Prince Qi but is interrupted and confronted by Su Ci. The emperor hears the evidence but Prince Yun is tired of waiting.
