Bryant Grocery still stands (although severely dilapidated) in what was once Money, Mississippi. The remains of the store where Emmett Till had his fateful encounter with Mrs. Bryant can be seen on Money Road, north of the city of Greenwood, MS. There is a historical marker there.
At the time of the murder, Emmett's family believed that his father was killed in Europe during WWII. After his story gained widespread attention, his mother learned that her husband, Louis Till (1922-1945) was actually executed by hanging by the US Army after being convicted of rape and murder in Italy. Louis Till is buried in an American cemetery in France.
