Best of the Season So Far
Oktay_Tuna8 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I think this season so far is the weakest season compared to the other seasons, but it doesn't mean it was bad or something. It was good but didn't have many strong episodes(they were mostly mediocre). Well this episode definitely is an exception. There are 3 characters whom we follow in this episode: Andrew, Jessi, and Matthew. Honestly, Nick and Andrew's storylines are just dead at that point. Andrew's cum "ritual" and Nick's dream stuff(which should've already been resolved) are just not going anywhere and not interesting at all. But Jessi and Matthew's storylines were just amazing in this episode. Jessi going through depression and anxiety which was caused by puberty and adapting to a new city(also Jessi's storyline is much better than Andrew and Nick's storylines in this season overall) and Andrew losing his connection with his mom because he is gay were just portrayed beautifully. Especially Matthew's storyline just felt so real, it feels like it was from a real life example. I loved him in this episode. Jessi finally taking a step to get out of depression by the help of her family(not Nick or Michael Angelo) was just also so real. Jessi and Matthew not only carried this episode but they also carried this season. My favorite characters and storylines of the season so far.

Starting to hit home - really like the fact that they're talking about OCD this season

Title says it all, love to see OCD in this show. They're portraying it pretty well with Andrew's character

One of the best episode of this season so far. I really enjoyed it despite singing(which sucks).

Irrelevant character development and vulgarity

I loved seasons 1-3. Not convinced yet by season 4. I liked many things from this episode, especially the depiction of gay conundrums. The family friction felt real and character suitable.

Andy's OCD trait seems forced and unrelated; the character hasn't demonstrated any neurotic traits previously and in this episode it is taken to an extreme.

hormone monster's role are getting tedious and annoying. Losing its edge.

Thank god its over (again)

Warning: Spoilers
Thank god the 'Jessi in the city' saga is over. It was really hard to watch the Depression Kitty and the Anxiety Mosquito ruin Jessi's life in the city, and any time we were following her in the city during this season I just wanted it to end. The 'city' stretch of episodes, in addition to the 'camp' arc, makes this season the worst of the show in my opinion. Still good and probably worth watching, but weak compared to the greatness of the others. We see zero progression from Jay and Lola in this episode. Nick is a really good friend to Jessi for a second until he ruins it because he thinks his dream about the future from 'Nick Starr' is coming true. Andrew... Well, things aren't going so well for Andrew 'ritual'-wise, and it culminates in him trying to be "personally intimate" with himself in front of his grandfather's corpse. Who else but Andrew? This is definitely a series-defining moment. Also, Morey got his hair 'pubed', which looks ridiculous. It looks like we've reached the light at the end of the tunnel that is this season.
