A pretty entertaining show!
corrt10615 December 2008
Who says Australian shows are boring? I do, well... did. But then I watched this show and it's restored my faith in Australian television, I was never really a fan of Always Greener or Sea Change to be honest. But enough about that. Although Swift & Shift was a but short, only about 6 episodes, it is definitely worth it. It's full of... some would say "questionable" humour, but then again, what isn't these days? Even the classic show the Simpsons has strayed into some "questionable" jokes in past years. Every episode is chock'o'block full of gay jokes, fat jokes, midget jokes and the likes. But unlike other shows, this one quite surprisingly pulls it all off seamlessly and very very funnily!

In short this is a really terrible show, and that's what makes it fantastic!

Nice Slice of Madness
gurfatehphil4 April 2009
Quite entertaining and funny in it's own twisted and politically incorrect way. A nice slice of the madness inherent in modern life and Sydney in particular. It's a 9-part series from Paul Fenech. He's the mad genius behind 'Pizza'. As you'll gather from the title, it's all about the staff of a courier company. Part of the grand comedy tradition of transport and taxi stuff ups. It's a comedy of errors, or should that be terrors? Having had to deal with the transport industry first hand when work in the education industry, this inspired silliness is spot on and close to home. There's going to be a second series in late 2009. Watch it and it'll cheer ya up a bit.

Hilarious but not for touchy Americans!

I laughed so hard during this series. This show has everything not allowed in the USA. Farting, insensitivity to women, handicapped, First Nation people, all ethnics, Muslims, gays, the overweight, little people, bosses, workers, police, municipal employees and customers... everyone equally! And everyone is incompetent. Almost hurtful to watch. All the damage! But the boss is avuncular and an alpha you can just follow along watching him slip and slide through every disastrous working day. All the characters own their idiosyncrasies and never disappoint and delight. Just plain unadulterated fun. Are You Being Served / Trailer Park Boys / 10 Items Or Less / IT Crowd combo.

Swift and Shift is one of those comedies you watch over and over again, and every time I watch it I laugh myself silly...The only downside is there wasn't a Season 3...

Brilliant comedy and the show will be missed....

Memories

I worked as a courier van driver for a couple of years and the characters, ridiculous situations portrayed in Swift and Shift although exaggerated aren't that far of the mark . I can relate totally to this bunch of misfits and it never fails in giving me sore sides from laughing so much. I LOVE this shoe.

Boring

This is a very boring and unfunny show with underdeveloped characters and really awful writing. I really hated it.

Oz's worst madcap courier service, that provides it's share of laughs

Okay, we have most of the cast from Housos in another trashy comedy again that works, but in no way can match the sharp cutting humour of Houso's. Again, in the beautiful city of Sydney, one courier service is running riot, in sloppy delivery. Like Housos, most of the actors in this show are bl..dy terrible, (writer and director Fenech, actually one of the better ones, who actually can act) but are still funny, just no way near as funny as in Housos. They must band together as one big happy family, off set. I've got the chance to see a few episodes of this, and like Centrelink, this takes the p..s out of Amanda Doyle. It's hard to see her put herself through that constant humiliation. Just check out the Valentines episode. At least, she's getting paid. Another episode features a fat employer of Swift And Shift, conked out, boxed up, ready for removal, for some bike hauling Indians, as a lesson to em' for stealing a couple of Swifties' jobs. SAS, runs third place to Housos and Fat Pizza, but is still quite funny, and takes jabs at all kinds of things. Sydney lover I am too, when seeing shots of the Krispy Kreme Factory on Parramatta, I can't help but feel envious and hungry. Bast.rds.
