One of the bars on Hurley's credit card statement is Hutton's Hangout, obviously a nod to star Timothy Hutton.
When the receptionist at Second Act asks Elliot and Alec for the name of the patient they've come to visit, Elliot replies "Tom Baker". Tom Baker was the fourth Doctor Who for a record seven years. This was the same alias Nate used in The Mile-High Job.
Nate, in the throes of withdrawal, begs Sophie to give him "something to do." This is reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes, who would do cocaine when he didn't have a case to solve. Perhaps Nate's mind, like Holmes', "rebels at stagnation."
During the end credits, the usual Leverage theme song is replaced by a song appropriate for this episode.
Drew Powell (Jack Hurley) guest-starred in The Librarians, which also starred Christian Kane.
